Higher end steak knives at an affordable price
These are nice knives for the price. They're fairly sharp, have nice wood handles, and are NOT serrated as most knives are in this price range. The blade is slightly shorter than most steak knives. See the pic.I knocked a star off as they're not as sharp as I'd hoped. A relatively inexpensive Victorinox kitchen paring knife is noticeably sharper than these are. These should be hand washed. The dishwasher will degrade the cutting edge and cause some corrosion/rust as these are made out of knife steel, as are most steak knives, not stainless steel.

Chicago Cutlery is well-known for the quality of its products and this set of knives didn't disappoint. Very sharp and easy to handle.

These are great steak knives. They are MUCH better than knives of comparable price and are almost as good as very expensive steak knives.

The straight edge cuts much better than a serrated steak knife but because there are no high and low points on the blade it can get dull. The blade sharpens very easily and keeps its edge for the most part. If you have guests that are used to using bad steak knives they might dull your knives faster. You need to be able to take care of this knife to make it last. I use a highly rated sub $10 sharpener on mine and the knifes have always been great. It takes me less than 15 seconds to sharpen each blade because the edge is designed to be sharpened.

There are very few flaws for these knives. On one of my knives the handle has a tiny bit of play in the handle but its minuscule enough that if I wasn't searching for it I wouldn't have noticed it. This flaw doesn't change how the blade handles at all and the amount of play is so small it doesn't make it unsafe or get things stuck in the handle

I would buy these knives again and I recommend them to friends.

These are the best steak knives. Hands down. I am a knife Lover, and a woodworker. So, these classic wood handled steak knives are a favorite for me. There’s something heart warming and familiar about using a wood handled steak knife and in the world of wood handled steak knives these are the top dog. Sharp and easy to sharpen. The handles are very comfortable.

The only downside to wood handles is of course that dirt and crap can get inside the handles, so you do have to take care to wash them well and take care of them. This set was actually purchased to replace/supplement a set that was a wedding gift to my mother 35 years ago! A few had been lost and so she only had 2 left, however, those 2 are in remarkable condition for their age. One had a broken tip but I was able to easily reshape the tip and resharpen the knife and now it’s as good as new! I may even put a new handle on it for her!

Anyway, long story short... these are the gold standard of steak knives. Just get them.

I purchased these knives a few years ago and was happy to reorder again. Excellent product sand transaction. Speedy shipping.

Bought this set to add to a few other Chicago Cutlery kitchen knives we have. Our existing knives are a few decades old and still fabulous. So of course I had hopes of similar quality. Arrived sharp and ready. But not of the quality from years ago.
Unfortunately the scales (handles) are loose on 2 of the 4, and the edges of the scales could use easing over. I thought maybe the wood of the scales had dried down to much and shrunk. After multiple hand washings they've improved only slightly. I'll take care of softening the3 edges myself, maybe add a couple drops of CA glue on the handles.

Had this company's products before and that's why I reordered. The current ones look a little thinner, but they still do the job. I use them to replace the serrated steak knives my wife at purchased. They didn't cut they sawed.

Very high quality, beautiful addition to your cutlery set. Pair them with a 400 grit sharpener and oil for the wooden handles and you got a set of knives for life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best steak knives I ever owned
Reviewed in Canada on October 1, 2017
I bought those steak knives after reading a review of them from America's Test Kitchen. Those are without a doubt the best steak knives I ever owned. They slice through steaks, chicken breast, pork chops very cleanly and quickly. The fact that those are not serrated like a lot of steak knives seem to produce a cleaner cut, without tearing the meat apart.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality for the price
Reviewed in Canada on November 18, 2016
These Chicago Cutlery Walnut Steal Knives really impressed me considering the price point. The walnut handles look stylish and the blades were sharp. The curved blade was actually quite useful to cut around the bones in a steak. The only minor issue was that the wood near the bolster was roughly finished on the set I received; maybe other sets are better finished.
