I bought 2 of these. One to replace a broken camera and one to add coverage I was missing.
The cameras were easy to install. I reused the 1/4-20 mount from the broken camera and it screwed right in the back end of the camera. The new camera I used the magnetic mount. I’m usually nervous about any outdoor mount that isn’t rock solid. But, these magnets are some sort of rare earth and they create a very solid mount for the camera. The camera come with a warning about how strong the magnets are and to keep your fingers out of pinch points.
Setup was easy using the iOS Tapo app.
The image quality is excellent. Also the low light color sensors give great color images at night if there is any light at all and the usual IR monochrome otherwise.
Motion detection zones have always been hit and miss in my experience. These cameras break that rule. First there are 4 different detection types (Motion, Person, Pet, Vehicle) that can be turned on or off individually and used together. Second, The zone boundaries in most cameras I’ve used give you one zone, usually a box you can change the size of. The zones in these camera are described by 4 points. You can move the points to make any 4 sided shape. But wait! You can add additional 4 sided shaped zones. I’ve got one with 4 zones. My camera in the front yard needs to keep the street out of the detection zone but cover all the little nooks and crannies. It’s an impossible shape to describe with only 4 points. With these cameras the 16 points I used cover the area completely and eliminate false triggers. And, you can either have all your detector types share a common zone set or have separate zone sets per type (Per, Person, vehicle, and Motion)
I liked the first two so much, I bought 3 more to replace the rest of my cameras.
I hate climbing up to replace batteries. They always go dead in the rain and cold. I have solar panels on 3 of the cameras and 2 of the cameras are plugged into outdoor lighting using the supplied charging cubes in light housings where they are nice and dry. The result is that for at least part of every day the cameras get some charge. Low batteries are never a problem.
I did buy an annual subscription to Tapo Care. These come with a 30 trial subscription and that got us hooked. At least the purchased subscription is added onto the end of the trial.

Clear image and quality recording
AI Detection is very cool. It accurately detected me as a human and saved the recording starting a few seconds before the detection happened. This is an improvement over the previous models I've used and is very useful. Some other cameras I've used would miss the action after triggering. Full wifi with no base station is also incredibly useful, and gives more flexibility as to where I can put it. Vehicle detection does work, but the vehicle seems to need to take up a larger portion of the frame/be close to the camera. Setup was very easy, like other Tapo products I have. The Tapo app keeps getting better and smoother to use. It is very fast to load the camera feed and the delay is very little when viewing. I did have a weird issue where I was getting an error about not being able to control it from outside the house at first, but that went away after a couple hours.The night vision is very good, and the spotlight is bright. Even in day mode, the camera can see very well in low light. The speaker and microphone are also good for talking with someone on the camera or capturing a record. Battery life has been impressive. I only saw about a 4% drop in 2 weeks.The 2K/QHD nomenclature is a little confusing as these are different resolutions depending on who you ask. I work in TV and 2K in my world is about 2048x1080. The camera records in QHD 2560x1440, which is a very nice resolution. Not a complaint, but a note.Things I think could be improved:Formatting an SD card was very easy and downloading to my phone is super easy. I wish there was also a web version of the app so I could view it on my PC or Laptop. I've heard this is being explored for future addition.The magnetic camera is super easy to place and retrieve, but seems like it could be easy for someone to steal if they so desired. A tether or lock attachment could be a nice addition.Recharging is very easy, but since the batteries are not swappable there would have to be a downtime while recharging.Overall, this is a great camera and a great value for what it can do, especially being from a trusted brand. There was clearly a lot of thought and design put into it and the experience using it, and I appreciate the improvements over the C420.

Outro contra é o app do computador, no meu caso Windows, achei bem ruim, a câmera perde a qualidade no pc, horrivel a conexao para se mover, a xingling eram bemmm melhor nesse quesito. Para quem tiver dificuldade em achar um app, uso o iSpy v7.2.6.0 . Muito ruim, inacreditável uma empresa nao fazer um app simples para conectar, mover, qualidade de video igual ao do celular, mas ok, faz parte. O app no celular é muito bom, notifica mais do que eu acho necessário, bem sensível, mas muito boa a qualidade e manuseio, única coisa que peca é realmente a troca do Wifi como disse.
Som bom, microsd bem fácil de colocar e armazena certinho.
Outra coisa legal do app do celular é os modos que aparecem no print da última foto, vc salva os modos que quer pré-ajustado e quando clica mt rapidamente já vai para a posição, curti muito, a chinesa tinha isso mas o app coloca logo de cara e é muito mais rápido, rapidasso mesmo. Curti muito.
Se a Amazon colocar a venda a de 2k em uns 600 por ai eu iria preferir. Mas pagar 400 reais nessa daqui não acho ruim não, acho bem bom o custo beneficio, eu compraria novamente, mas vou aguardar a de 2k. Acho que em segurança não devemos economizar.
