Whether you tune in on Super Bowl Sunday to watch the actual game or your focus is more on the snacks, puppies playing football, or halftime pyrotechnics, having the right equipment for your watch party is key.

Sales on AV gear abound, and though not all of them are worth the spend, our price tracking has shown that late January and early February can offer great deals on Wirecutter-recommended TVs. With one of these TVs, you’ll never miss a moment.

The TCL Q6, our budget pick for the best gaming TV, displaying a game.

A truly budget-oriented 4K TV, this bright, responsive model is specifically outfitted to complement modern PC and console gaming. Not only does it offer built-in Google TV, but it also has a “Game Accelerator 120” feature to utilize variable refresh rate and provide fast, snappy gameplay.

Other things to know: Lacks the local dimming and mini-LED technology. 60 Hz refresh rate. Doesn’t have the HDMI 2.1 inputs to take full advantage of current-gen consoles. We don’t recommend the Q6 if your priority is more-cinematic TV and movie watching.

A solid choice for gamers, this LED TV is packed with features—including built-in Google TV—at an affordable price. It has a 120 Hz refresh rate for cleaner, smoother motion, plus a mini-LED backlight and quantum-dot tech for high contrast and rich colors. But it’s available only in larger screen sizes.

Other things to know: Loses some image fidelity when you sit off-center. Isn’t equipped with an ATSC 3.0 tuner, so over-the-air broadcasts are limited to a maximum resolution of 1080p. In addition to the 65- and 85-inch models, other sizes are also on sale. Matches the low price we saw over Black Friday.

A Hisense U8K Series 4K QLED TV.

This premium QLED Google TV has all the same advanced performance tech as our top pick, including mini-LED backlighting and quantum dots for high contrast and rich colors. It isn’t quite as bright, but it’s still good for brighter rooms and daytime viewing.

Other things to know: Offers native 120 Hz refresh rate, 4K resolution, and Wi-Fi 6E capabilities. Audio performance isn’t top-notch. Deal for the 85-inch TV matches the lowest price we’ve seen for this size.

A Samsung The Frame 55-Inch QLED TV.

Blending seamlessly with any room’s aesthetic, this TV stands out for its artwork-inspired presentation—but it’s also just a really good TV. It delivers the same bright, richly appointed image as many of Samsung’s upper-tier QLED models do, but you need a subscription to access most of its art-centric features.

Other things to know: Image quality is not equal to that of the best 4K and 8K models from the same manufacturer. Amazon Prime members get free shipping from Woot. One-year limited warranty.
