You’ve probably thought about the amount of sleep you get, but what about the quality? Good rest isn’t all about numbers—the quality of your sleep is just as important as the quantity. People spend about one-third of their lives in bed, after all, so how do you get the most out of it? As with anything else, having the right tools for the job will help. Below you’ll find deals on mattresses, slippers, and everything in between to help you get your 40 winks.

The right mattress is foundational to good sleep, but mattresses don’t come cheap. Even a budget option is likely to be one of the larger investments you make on sleep gear—but it’s well worth the cost. Whether you sleep on your side, back, or stomach, we’ve got you covered.

Deal price: $1,050 with code WIRECUTTER; street price: $1,660

Whether you favor your side, back, or stomach, the Leesa Hybrid mattress can support all. It takes the best that spring and foam mattresses have to offer and combines them into a hybrid that delivers bounce and support. It’s cooler and thicker than the competition, it comes with a 100-day trial period, and it includes a 10-year warranty. The Leesa Hybrid is also a great option for people who weigh more than 200 pounds. If you’re a picky sleeper searching for your Goldilocks mattress, the Leesa Hybrid just might be your perfect fit. Plus, we’ve yet to see this mattress drop any lower in price.

The Saatva Classic mattress, available in Luxury Firm and Plush Soft, sits on a platform bed frame on a rug in a bedroom.
Photo: Sarah Kobos

Deal price: $1,174; street price: $1,600

The Saatva Classic delivers all the bounce of a traditional innerspring mattress without the usual creaking or rigidity. It has pocketed microcoils and a plush cotton and memory-foam top for optimal pressure relief no matter what position you sleep in. However, the Classic doesn’t offer the best motion isolation, so rotisserie-style sleepers may still face the ire of their partner. We’ve seen better discounts in the past, but we think this deal is decent compared with the Classic’s recent street-price increase. Plus, the mattress comes with a 180-day trial period and 15-year warranty. (Note: Returns and exchanges entail a $100 fee.)

The WinkBed mattress, available in Luxury Firm and Softer, sits on a wooden bed frame centered on a rug in a bedroom.
Photo: Sarah Kobos

Deal price: $1,345 with code WCSLEEPWEEK; street price: $1,550

If you prefer a firmer mattress, the WinkBed is a medium-firm polyfoam mattress that provides a nice cushion but does not have as much spring as its previous iteration. The WinkBed is less cradling than the Saatva Classic above, and it has 1,054 pocketed coils internally and around the rim that create an overall denser and supportive mattress. We initially found the WinkBed to be overly stiff (particularly against our shoulders), but it quickly broke in after about a week of use, nicely balancing give and support throughout the body.

Sweet dreams are made of … sheets? Whether you’re seeking top-of-the-line percale cotton or prioritizing your budget, you have plenty of sheets to choose from. And don’t underestimate the power of a good blanket, either—it can be the final touch that ties a bed together (or really elevates that afternoon nap). Below are a few of our favorites.

Queen (15 pounds) | Deal price: $125; street price: $180
Throw (12 pounds) | Deal price: $115; street price: $160

It may seem counterintuitive to comfort yourself by weighing your body down with 15 pounds, but for many folks, there’s some very real magic at work when they use a weighted blanket. Our low-maintenance “quilted” pick is the perfect cross between a bedroom comforter and a quilt. It’s soft and smooth, and it has higher-quality stitching than other, cheaper blankets—perfect for your bedroom or movie night. Plus, it’s washer and dryer safe.

Photo: Michael Hession

Deal price: $135 with code WCFEB2022; street price: $159

High-quality sheets are one of those luxuries you just need to try out for yourself. With a durable construction that only gets softer with each wash, this supple and breathable percale set from L.L.Bean has been our top cotton-sheets pick for four years running. We’ve seen better markdowns in the past, but considering that these sheets have increased in street price over the past few years, we think this drop to $127 in a variety of colors is still a solid deal. Use promo code WCFEB2022 to save if you’re shopping for a set of cool, crisp sheets.

Deal price: $119 with code WCSLEEP; street price: $149

Summer isn’t that far off. If you sleep hot or just want to prepare for the warmer months ahead, we like the Brooklinen Classic Core Sheet Set. It’s not quite as nice as our top pick from L.L.Bean, but this set is an affordable, breathable alternative that still feels nice against the skin. Unlike our more streamlined top pick, this set also comes in a variety of fun prints.

A Cuddledown 400 thread count white sateen sheet over a bed.
Photo: Michael Hession

Deal price: $152; street price $200

Subtlety is nice—we love an elegant, understated bed. But if opulence is your goal, consider a set of sateen sheets. These Cuddledown sheets are light, lustrous, and quite frankly just as good as $1,000 luxury sheets we’ve tried. If you’re particular about the smoothness of your sheets and want the widest variety of color options, this deal is a great chance to try the best for less. Not to mention, Cuddledown offers an unconditional guarantee that’s pretty hard to beat. Although Cuddledown is offering its own sitewide sale, this particular deal includes free shipping—typically an additional $15 to $20 fee.

A bed and pillow with a set of Cultiver white linen sheets.

Deal price: $308 with code WIRECUTTER20; street price: $385

Elton John was really on to something in the ’70s: I, too, want to be laid down in sheets of linen. They have an airy feel and an effortlessly rumpled look, but they still somehow deliver a decent weight that’s more substantial than what you get from your average cotton sheet. Our top pick was one of the softest sets we tested and more durable than the competition. These sheets are also a bit more affordable—though that isn’t saying much if you know how pricey linen sheets can be. This set includes a fitted sheet, a flat sheet, and two pillowcases. It also comes in a wide variety of fun colors and prints.

A duvet with a light colored Cultiver linen duvet cover, shown over a bed.
Photo: Rozette Rago

Deal price: $208 with code WIRECUTTER20; street price: $260

While you’re at it, why not complete the set with a duvet cover? Praised for its softness and carefree look, our high-quality linen pick is a luxurious option that will please any linen lover. It’s supersoft, smooth, and breathable. And, like the Cultiver sheets above, in our tests it hasn’t exhibited the same durability issues as other brands’ duvet covers. The Cultiver duvet isn’t cheap even on sale, but its overall quality is largely unmatched.

Deal price: $112; street price: $168

Not only does a good duvet cover revamp your bed’s style, but it can extend the life of your comforter, too. If you’re going for a colorful and elegant look, we recommend Cuddledown’s sateen cover. It has a luxe look and feel that’s softer than linen and percale, and it comes in a variety of rich colors (but no patterns). We’ve seen an increase in the street price of this cover over the years, but this is the first notable drop we’ve seen since last June, so it’s at least a rare chance to save. Although Cuddledown is offering its own sitewide sale, this particular deal includes free shipping—typically an additional $15 to $20 fee.

Deal price: $103 with code WCSLEEP; street price: $120

Add a little personality to your bedding with the Brooklinen Classic Duvet Cover. This cover comes in nine colors and prints that are fun and sophisticated. It’s also one of the more affordable covers we tested, yet it doesn’t sacrifice comfort or quality. Just like Brooklinen’s sheets, it’s made of cool and crisp percale fabric, the kind you might expect from nice hotel bedding. We rarely see sales on this duvet cover, so check it out with code WCSLEEP if you’re looking to update your bedding on a budget.

Our pick for the best comforter that's fluffy, lightweight and usually in stock, the Brooklinen All-Season Down Comforter.
Photo: Brooklinen

Deal price: $287 with code WCSLEEP; street price: $359

Blankets and sheets are great, but when it comes to getting cozy, nothing beats a comforter. If you want something warm and fluffy but still lightweight, we like the Brooklinen All-Season Down Comforter. It’s lofty and high-quality, and it’s one of the few comforters we recommend that didn’t encounter serious stock issues due to the pandemic. We’ve seen some buyer reviews noting down leaking from the shell of their Brooklinen comforter, but we’ve yet to experience any shedding in our own tests.

A cozy looking person sitting on a sofa wrapped in a gray with cream colored fringe Brooklinen Pure Wool Throw.
Photo: Kyle Fitzgerald

Deal price: $191 with code WCSLEEP; street price: $239

Always having a cozy blanket at arm’s reach is a simple—and underappreciated—upgrade for your home. This wool throw is handsome, dense, and extra-toasty. It’s also softer and fuzzier than most pure-wool blankets you’ll find. I’m actually mildly allergic to wool, and I still have one of these blankets around the house (I stack it on top of another, lighter blanket for the added heft and warmth). Deals on this pick are rare, so this discount is a nice chance to save on a high-end blanket for your home that will last.

Close-up of a white Riley Textured Cotton Coverlet.
Photo: Sarah Kobos

Deal price: $135 with code WCPRES25; street price: $180

Calling all hot sleepers and blanket loungers: The lightweight Riley Coverlet is laid-back and cool. It’s not the softest blanket we recommend, but we love its mix of breezy texture and durable structure. The blanket has two layers: a cotton-gauze side that’s lightweight and a sturdier cotton side that’s more durable. It’s perfect for the summer and is easily layered in the winter to add a little more warmth. We’ve seen this coverlet on sale for less in the past, but deals are extremely rare, so this discount is still a notable opportunity to save. You can even snag a few select colors for 30% off, but options are limited and all sales are final.

Close-up of a cream colored L.L.Bean Maine-Made Cotton Twill Blanket.
Photo: Michael Hession

Deal price: $127 with code WCFEB2022; street price: $150

This casual, no-fuss blanket is the perfect companion on a chilly day. Don’t be fooled by its thinner appearance—the Maine-Made Cotton Twill blanket is toasty and nicely weighted, perfect for layering under a comforter or for curling up on the couch. It’s also tightly woven and durable. Even after three years of testing and washing, it still looks soft and new. We don’t see many notable discounts from L.L.Bean, so don’t miss out on this chance to grab this toasty blanket. The coupon code WCFEB2022 works for all sizes and colors.

In some ways, a good pillow is just as important as a good mattress. If you’re not sleeping well, finding the right pillow could help—and getting a new one is much cheaper than going all in on a new bed. But just like mattresses, pillows aren’t one-size-fits-all. Below are some of our favorites for all sleeper types.

A Nest Bedding Easy Breather Pillow, shown on a bed.
Photo: Sarah Kobos

Deal price: $75 with code WIRECUTTER; street price: $90

Even if you’re allergic to down, that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on an ultrasoft pillow. The Easy Breather is supportive, soft, and one of the most comfortable pillows we’ve found. It’s also highly adjustable, as it’s filled with shredded foam that you can remove to find your ideal fit. The Easy Breather comes with a two-year warranty and lacks the infamous chemical smell that plagues many other shredded-foam pillows. This deal is far from the best price we’ve seen for this adjustable pillow, but it’s still a decent savings when you use code WIRECUTTER.

A white memory foam Ecosa pillow, shown on a bed cover.
Photo: Rozette Rago

Deal price: $68 with code WIRECUTTER; street price: $80

Suffering from neck, shoulder, or arm pain? Back- and side-sleepers may find some relief with the Ecosa Pillow. Made of contoured memory foam, the Ecosa is a mostly firm pillow with a bit of give to help you feel cradled without sinking in. It’s also adjustable and height-customizable. If you’re still unconvinced, Ecosa offers a 100-night return policy, so you’ll have plenty of time to decide if it’s right for you. The promo code WIRECUTTER drops this pillow to $68. It’s not exactly cheap, but we’ve yet to see this contoured memory-foam pillow drop any lower.

You don’t have to stop at the basics. Good sleep is made of more than coils and foam. Sleep accessories that can help you prepare for bed and fall asleep are just as essential. Below you’ll find deals on everything from towels to our favorite sleepwear—all aimed at maximizing your downtime.

Onsen Bath Towel Bundle

The best waffle weave towel, The Onsen Bath Towel, shown folded into a square.
Photo: Michael Murtaugh

Deal price for a set of two: $75 with code WCSET; street price: $100
Deal price for a set of six: $109 with code WCBUNDLE; street price: $156

When it comes to towels, one person’s plush dream is another’s terry-cloth nightmare. If you err on the lighter, quicker-drying side of the towel spectrum, we recommend the Onsen. This luxurious-looking lattice towel dries much faster than your average terry-cloth towel. It’s the most expensive towel we recommend, but among lattice-style offerings, it’s surprisingly well priced—even more so when it’s on sale. Right now, you can save on a set of two or a set of six in all available colors.

Glerups Wool Slippers

Deal price (slippers): $110 in black/gray with code WCTHESHOE; street price: $140
Deal price (boots): $100 in black/gray with code WCTHEBOOT; street price: $155

Did you know that warming your feet up a bit before bed may help reduce fatigue and insomnia? If you want a great pair of slippers to wear around the house, we like Glerups Wool Slippers. They’re supportive and extremely durable, and they have an attractive minimalist look. They’re also very breathable, so they’ll keep your feet warm without making them sweaty. If you live in a colder climate, you may appreciate the boot version, which also covers the ankle for a little added warmth. Essentially, the only reason these slippers aren’t our top pick is their price. But this sale helps close that gap a bit.

L.L.Bean Wicked Good Moccasins

A close-up of a person lying on a sofa wearing a pair of L.L.Bean Wicked Good Moccasins, our pick for the best slippers.
Photo: Sarah Kobos

Deal price (men’s slippers): $67 with code WCFEB2022; street price: $79
Deal price (women’s slippers): $67 with code WCFEB2022; street price: $79

There’s nothing quite like a cozy pair of slippers. These L.L.Bean sheepskin slippers have been our favorite set for several years running. They’re super soft and durable—basically “a warm hug for your feet.” The Wicked Good Moccasins are also breathable and easy to slip on and off, and they offer nice all-around coverage. This isn’t the best deal we’ve seen for these moccasins, but it’s still a decent chance to snag a longtime Wirecutter favorite for a little less.

The Loftie Alarm Clock, the best alarm clock with smart functions and numerous features.
Photo: Rozette Rago

Deal price: $110 with code WCSLEEPWEEK; street price: $140

How you fall asleep (and wake up) impacts the quality of your sleep. Although your own habits and behaviors do most of the heavy lifting, a good alarm clock can help. A far cry from the screaming clocks of yesteryear, the Loftie lulls you to sleep and gently wakes you in the morning. Offering easy-to-use controls in a sleek and simple package, the Loftie is perfect for people who enjoy falling asleep or waking up to ambient music and nature sounds. It’s an expensive clock even on sale, but between the night-light, the snooze button, the selection of alarm tones, the meditation soundscapes, and the background-noise generators, the Loftie does quite a bit to earn its keep.

The Yamazaki Expandable Bathtub Caddy set up over a white bathtub and filled with wine, a cell phone, and other bathroom necessities.
Photo: Michael Hession

Deal price: $20 with code WIRECUTTER20; street price: $25

A relaxing nighttime routine can do wonders to help you drift off for the night. If you enjoy languishing in the bath, consider adding a bath caddy to your bathing repertoire. The Yamazaki Expandable Bathtub Caddy is perfect for average to smaller tubs. It’s made of plastic and comes with small, removable compartments that do double duty as added storage in your bathroom. This deal is the first notable discount we’ve seen for the Yamazaki caddy.

The sleek Snooz white noise machine, showing rounded sides and a large white power button on top.
Photo: Michael Murtaugh

Deal price: $72 with code WIRECUTTER72; street price: $90

White-noise machines are great, but they aren’t always aesthetically pleasing. The Snooz, however, is a curvy and stylish alternative to the often more clinical-looking models we recommend. It’s Bluetooth-enabled, and its encased fan produces a natural and satisfying whoosh. The Snooz has an app that allows you to adjust the volume in gradual increments, as well as a handy automatic scheduler. You can also rotate its outer ring manually to adjust the tone. Overall, this model is a beautiful option, but it’s limited to a single sound, so it’s not as versatile as our upgrade pick. That said, if you only have ears for the fan setting, we think you’ll get the most out of the Snooz.

The video monitor and camera of the Eufy SpaceView, our pick for best baby monitor that doesn't require wi-fi.
Photo: Sarah Kobos

Deal price: $129 with code WCEUFY129 and on-page coupon; street price: $170

Do you know what really helps you sleep? Peace of mind. You can’t be everywhere at once, but a good baby monitor can help. The SpaceView delivers everything we want in a top-pick baby monitor, including an adjustable camera, easy-to-use controls, high-quality video and audio, and excellent range. This newer Pro version has all the same features but comes with a bigger battery; although that makes the monitor slightly bulkier, we appreciate not having to charge the unit as often. Plus, it means the Pro balances on its own without needing a (flimsy) kickstand—one of the few drawbacks of the original model.

Two pairs of EyeBuyDirect blue light blocking glasses on an orange background
Photo: Sarah Kobos

The jury is still out on the effects of blue-light-filtering glasses, but if you toss and turn at night after sitting in front of a screen all day, they’re worth a shot. You can try a pair on sale right now from EyeBuyDirect, such as our unique and super-lightweight pick, the Botanist Rectangle, which is down to only $31 (from $51). EyeBuyDirect also offers excellent customer service and a 14-day return policy. Note: This discount doesn’t apply to Ray-Ban or Oakley frames, and there’s a purchase limit of six frames per order.

Donning a cozy robe is a simple way to make a luxurious upgrade to your lounging routine. Our pick for the best terry robe absorbs water without clinging to your body, and it’s lighter and easier to move around in compared with other robes we tested. This deal is available in a wide range of men’s and women’s sizes and includes all of The Company Store’s recently released new colors. Even better, it’s the best price we’ve ever seen for these plush robes.

Deal price: $105 with code WIRECUTTER; street price: $128

If you want to shell out on a pair of pj’s, you might as well get the best. These Eberjey pajamas are soft, smooth, and versatile. They’re polished and chic—including classic contrast piping around the edges—but they’re still made of a jersey fabric that’s especially comfortable, so you’ll still look put together even when you’re lounging around the house. The set also comes in a wider variety of colors than any other pajamas we recommend, and you can mix and match.
