Your relationship with your bed might be feeling a bit fraught these days. Since you’ve spent so many months at home, perhaps your sleeping quarters have unintentionally morphed into being your workspace/Zoom spot/snacking quarters as well. Or, with so many weighty issues at top of mind lately, maybe drifting off to dreamland has become more difficult than ever before.

Luckily, Memorial Day is on the horizon, and with it come deals that will help you transform your bedroom into the coziest, most calming place possible. To get you started, Wirecutter has curated a long list of deals on several of our approved and upcoming picks—everything from mattresses to blue-light glasses and white noise machines. So a great night’s sleep will be only a few clicks away.

The Allswell Luxe Hybrid mattress, shown in a bedroom.

In our guide to the best foam mattresses you can buy online, testers raved about the high-end comfort of this well-priced memory-foam mattress. Although we ultimately did not select the Allswell Luxe Hybrid as an official Wirecutter pick, five testers chose it as their favorite mattress in the memory-foam category, and one even noted outright, “This does not feel like a cheap mattress.” (However, it will feel that way to your wallet when at checkout you use the code WIRECUTTER25, which reduces the Luxe to $506, from its $675 street price.) The Allswell Luxe offers good springiness, great overall support, and a plush, cushy feel, though we wish the specs were a little more luxuriant. (When we tested the Luxe Hybrid in 2018, its memory-foam layer was 2 pounds per cubic foot, and the polyfoam was 1.3 pounds per cubic foot; the company revamped the mattress in 2019 but told us its essential specs remain the same.) We especially recommend the Allswell Luxe Hybrid for guest bedrooms or to fulfill other short-term sleep needs.

Two pairs of EyeBuyDirect blue light blocking glasses on an orange background

Long before it’s time to hit the hay, your optical exposure to blue light could be futzing with your body’s ability to get its most restful sleep. In our guide to the best blue-light glasses, we noted that a lot of the claims about the benefits of blue-light-blocking glasses—like that they prevent headaches and eye strain—aren’t yet backed by good data. But the experts we consulted did agree that blue light can negatively affect your sleep-wake cycle, and that a pair of blockers can help you fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. We ranked EyeBuyDirect as our favorite online retailer of blue-light glasses, thanks to its selection of high-quality brands in a wide range of sizes and styles. And now (with the exception of Ray-Ban and Oakley glasses), they’re all available at 40% off when you use the code WCSLEEP at checkout. EyeBuyDirect’s reliable customer service includes a 14-day, no-questions-asked return policy.

Photo: Sarah Kobos

Summer is coming, and nights are getting warmer, but you still love to curl up under a blanket at bedtime. The solution? Consider a breathable coverlet that won’t leave you overheated. The Riley Textured Cotton Coverlet is one of our blanket picks because of its unique, layered design—a bottom layer of loosely woven, lightweight gauze, topped by a thicker layer of ribbed cotton. This makes the coverlet simultaneously durable and airy, similar to seersucker and perfect for hotter weather. Besides being the coolest blanket we tested in our guide to the best blankets, it’s also the coolest-looking, with a smart-yet-casual, laid-back style. When summer ends, top it with a quilt or comforter to enjoy its coziness year-round. Use the code MEMORIAL20 at checkout to receive the Riley coverlet at 20% off, reducing its $180 street price to $144.

Our pick, the Cultiver linen sheets arranged in a bedroom
Photo: Rozette Rago

Looking to add some happiness to your summer sleep routine? Linen sheets feel like a dream—especially this time of year, since the fabric’s wicking abilities and light touch can keep you cooler than cotton. Cultiver’s sheets (down to $308, from $385, for a queen set when you use the code WIRECUTTER20) are the top pick in our guide to the best linen sheets for a couple of reasons: They’re softer than any other brand we tested, and they offer the most prints and colors to choose from. (However, even though Cultiver sells its bedding à la carte, it doesn’t sell all of its sheets in all sizes.) Also, we heard fewer complaints about Cultiver linen’s durability compared with that of other brands. But if you’re concerned that linen sheets might wear out prematurely, consider pairing a fitted sheet made of more-rugged cotton with one of Cultiver’s linen duvet covers (down to $208, from $260, when you use the code WIRECUTTER20) for the best of both worlds.

The Saatva Classic (Luxury Firm) on a bed frame in a bedroom setting.

Saatva Classic (queen)
Deal price: $1,099; street price: $1,499

The Saatva Classic mattress pops up in several of our guides—it’s one of our top picks for the best innerspring mattresses, the best mattresses for back pain, and the best mattresses for side-sleepers. It features two types of coils (which allow for good spinal support and easy side-switching), memory foam (which relieves pressure all around), and a 3-inch Euro top with cotton-blend padding (which helps cushion shoulders and hips). This combination makes the Saatva Classic a pleasingly all-purpose mattress. And it’s available right now at a deal price of $1,099 for a queen (down from $1,499, no code needed), with a choice of two heights and three firmness levels. Plus, it comes with a 180-day trial period. All of this should make your mattress-shopping experience as pain-free as your mornings.

The WinkBed (Luxury Firm) mattress in a bedroom setting.

As with the Saatva Classic, we can’t recommend the WinkBed (Luxury Firm) enough: It’s a top pick in our guides to the best innerspring mattresses, the best hybrid mattresses (though we think its construction is closer to the former than the latter), the best mattresses for back-sleepers, the best mattresses for stomach-sleepers, and the best mattresses for 2021 (despite a redesign in 2021 that our testers thought subtracted a bit of its fluffiness). Measuring 13½ inches thick and featuring high-quality, high-density polyfoam, thick and plentiful support coils, sturdy edges, and a quilted top, the WinkBed boasts a substantial, medium-firm feel and construction that seems built to last. Plus, this mattress comes with a 120-day trial period. And when you use the code WCWINKBED, it has a deal price of $1,243, a substantial discount from its usual street price of $1,599. Code SLEEP300 should also appear in cart for first time buyers to stack with the WCWINKBED code and result in the deal price—if not, it can be added manually.

Tuft & Needle Mattress (Queen)
Photo: Tuft & Needle

Tuft & Needle (queen)
Deal price: $556 with code WIRECUTTER20; street price: $650

Memory foam gets all the glory these days. But if you rotate a lot while you sleep, your better bet may be some good old-fashioned not-memory-foam foam. Our testers determined that Tuft & Needle mattresses make repositioning easier because you probably won’t sink into them as much as you would a memory-foam mattress. However, the firm polyfoam body is topped with a softer layer, so you should still find the Tuft & Needle plenty comfortable. (One of our staffers who’s slept on a Tuft & Needle for the past three or so years said he already plans to buy another one when the time arises because it’s so comfy.) The mattress, which also comes with a 10-year warranty and a 100-day free trial, is one we recommend for people who weigh less than 200 pounds. Use the code WIRECUTTER20 to get this mattress for only $556—down from its usual street price of $650.

The Leesa Hybrid mattress, in a bedroom, shown without bedding.

Leesa Hybrid (queen)
Deal price: $1440 with code WIRECUTTER; street price: $1,660

The Leesa Hybrid has consistently pleased our testers since 2018, and it's one of our top picks for the best memory-foam mattress you can buy online. It combines the best elements of memory-foam and spring mattresses by balancing a conforming cushioning top with a gentle bounce. The durable, dense memory-foam top cradles you and provides good pressure relief, while the spring layer adds just enough bounce and offers good pressure-relieving support. Although the price of the Leesa Hybrid has recently risen, we’re confident that this is one of the best prices you’ll find for the Leesa Hybrid going forward. The price indicated is for the queen size.

The best white noise machine, the Yogasleep Dohm, against a purple background.
Photo: Michael Murtaugh

This white noise machine is an upcoming pick in our guide to the best white noise machines, and it’s an updated model of the Marpac Dohm DS we currently recommend. Dohms are fan-based devices and the OGs of sleep machines, with the Marpac basically creating a whole new category of sleep aid when it debuted, in 1962. The Yogasleep embraces the Marpac’s low-tech design and preserves its signature rushing-air sound, which our testers liken to “what you hear when holding a seashell or a cupped hand over your ear.” It’s also always been an affordable item—and now more than ever before when you use the code WIRECUTTER at checkout; this gets you a Yogasleep Dohm in any color for a very impressive $35, down from its regular price of $50.
