House Tour | Dennis Freedman

The creative director shows off an astounding collection of Italian radical design in his East Hampton, N.Y., home.

We’re at my house in Long Island, which normally is filled with Italian radical furniture. This is the garage, where the original owner kept his three cars. When you’re an obsessive collector, one of the problems is you never have enough space. This screen is assembled by hand. There are approximately 9000 rivets. This is the “Bone Chair” designed by Joris Laarman in 2006. Six-foot-long solid cast rubber hoagie. This is the lobster and this is the crab. They were made as a set. A bust of Prince Vilhelm of Sweden by the former owner of this garage, the artist Arlene Wingate. The guest bedroom. The study. Hand-lacquered biomorphic table and five stools designed by Ico Parisi. My bedroom. By far, my most valuable possession are these photographs of my dog Jake. [DOORS CLICK CLOSED]
