Tottenham Hotspur defender Emerson Royal has sustained a knee injury while on international duty with Brazil and will require surgery.
Royal, 24, is expected to miss six weeks of action as he recovers.
The right-back played almost the full game on Saturday as Brazil lost 2-1 against Morocco in a friendly, before being withdrawn in stoppage time.
Tottenham confirmed Royal’s injury on Tuesday: “We can confirm that Emerson Royal suffered a meniscus injury to his left knee while on international duty with Brazil last week.”
