Panama captain Anibal Godoy has been ruled out of the Copa America with a thigh injury.
The 34-year-old Nashville midfielder sustained an injury to his left thigh in Sunday’s friendly defeat against Paraguay.
Godoy was substituted off in the 73rd minute of that match and the Panama FA (FEPAFUT) have now confirmed he will miss the tournament in the United States.
Godoy has been capped 140 times by Panama, the most of the current squad and the second-highest in the nation’s history — eight behind the now retired Gabriel Gomez.
