Award Winning Graphic Novelist Nate Powell stopped by the Bentonville Public Library on Saturday to promote his new book come again.

A Little Rock native, Powell started self-publishing at the age of 14 and earned the title of the first cartoonist to ever win the national book award.

He said he visited the library to talk to the crowd about his influences, cultural touchstones and themes that sprung up in the process of writing his book.

“It’s still wild to me that people are able to pick up a book that I’ve spent time making, much less to read it, to respond to it,” said Powell.

Powell said that interpersonal dialogue between readers and creators is the core reason of why people make stories in the first place.
