Does this just work with the GoG copy?

Also, does the game know to search for a folder called "mods"? Because the video doesn't mention using another program to manage them.

I dont recommend getting cracked versions of games and if you do, rather not publicly talk about it. Nevertheless i would think it would be the same way as the original game, if that doesnt work, how about support the creators of the game with 10 bucks to get the game on sale.

If it's not complicated, why make a vid? Can't you just type the instructions?

A video is useful for people with a visual/auditory learning style as it uses both.

too long, did not watch: create a folder named "mods" in your witcher 3 folder and copy your mods there

i would agree with zarrazee if the topic is challenging, like a language or how to drive a car. but .. all there is to learn is where to copy the files ..

I am a teacher for a living and I have to say... something that seems simple in terms of a 1,2,3 step kind of a thing is actually quite challenging for others who have never seen or done something like it before. So even something this simple is a hard task for others. SO yay for the video.

We all have to provide instructions in the same format? There are already written instructions out there. This is just another way. You find it takes too much time to watch a video for something like this, just like I do? So what? Don't watch, read it someplace else. But if the video IS your favorite, best way to get the info, well then, how nice it is that somebody made one. No effort lost on your part except that you took the time to poke at the nice person doing a service for those different from yourself. Seems like a waste of time to me to even comment on it. Not for me, since I am perhaps preventing other people from falling into this logic trap and that gives me some satisfaction (though it diminishes the longer I spend on this).

Anyway, thanks for the video. I'm disappointed no popcorn was provided with the vide, but unlike Moodwaffle, I know that beggars can't be choosers--especially when I can just go to the kitchen and get my own popcorn or find my own written instructions about modding the Witcher.

@exxonic And we're proud of you. Glad that youhave the skills to explain how to install mods for Witcher 3. What would we do without you? You know, over the years I've developed the habit of punching people like you instead of pointing out what kind of dimwits they are. And I'm sure there are a lot of others out there who think like me and grew tired. So just as a heads-up: Don't act like that if someone is in front of you. Good for your health.

They make videos to get viewers and earn some ad revenue. Simple as that. I'd like watching useful videos, but I'd hate to watch needlessly long videos with no content.

In my personal opinion if you have the time to make a video you have the time to type up a guide, no excuse for laziness and half-assery, if you plan on making a guide the make a guide, if you just plan on making a video you shouldn't call it a guide, most importantly you should think about the people who might be dealing with limit data for their internet or might not have the time to watch a video and can, and do, understand a written guide. Thank you to Exxonic for just typing up the simple guide for me.

      Thank you.
      Only took one sentence.

I get why some people need videos to understand things, but for the literate (and especially computer literate in this case) it saves so much time to just type out the sentence instead of trying to lure clickbait views to your youtube channel.

sit through 2 and a half minutes just to say "Create a mods folder in the witcher 3 directory and copy your mods there". Like even if you wanna justify the video in any way, you cant tell me it had to be longer than 30 seconds.

Because modding in Witcher 3 is exceedingly difficult. You have to download another program that checks each mod for compatibility errors and then merges them all. It sucks but that's how you have to mod this game.

The fact that not a single comment is saying if the folder is case-sensitive is absolutely infuriating.

The folder is shown in the video as being all lower case, but that may not matter.

Exactly, and because their is no in-game indicator for mods if you install mods manually that change little to the game you don't immediately know if you installed it correctly.

I don't know i've tried what you did (create a folder and name it "mods") putting the principle mod for example such as the top 1 popular HD reworked, the unicorn horse to see if mods works but in-game nothing, not a single mod in view...
If someone has an idea please help me i'm tired :c

When I install mods (e.g. the overncumbered mod), a small pop up about RedEngine compiling scripts comes up. The, a box full of script compilation errors comes up, and I cannot start the game. To actually play the game again, I must completely erase every Witcher 3 file off of my PC. This is now getting really frustrating and piss-taking, so how can I fix it? I follow the instructions to the dot (not that they are complicated) but this prevents me from modding the game.
