About this mod

Hard Luck Blues quest has been expanded:
- Two new endings achievable through variety of player options, both in-terminal and in-gameplay
- Options and endings depend on character's skills but are not destined by it
- Fixed a vanilla bug where a player would receive no quest reward
Made with classic RPG fans in mind.

Changelogs
Hard Luck Blues - Vault 34 Quest Expanded changes and expands few aspects of the Hard Luck Blues quest to improve gameplay and add extra roleplay options. As of version 1.0, the mod adds:
- two extra endings to the quest, achieved through a few distinct choices that can be activated in-terminals or in-game
- extra player skill checks to ensure the outcome is more dependent on your character's stats and your choices
- a new reward for finishing the quest (provided you help the vault dwellers), since in the base game the quest reward is bugged and player is given... nothing.

In order to improve roleplaying aspects of the quest (and inspired by classic RPGs) good and bad options are not marked in any way.
Some options require a skill check without any information given. Roleplay your character as you wish and see your ending.

TIP: Hacking a reactor and overriding its controls is not easy and even with a direct manual, most people wouldn't be able to do it.
If you want to see all extra options, see the spoiler section in the mod description.

INSTALLATION
Place the *.esp file in the Data folder (just like with pretty much any other mod)

REQUIREMENTS
Fallout New Vegas

UNINSTALLATION
Delete the *.esp file (also just like any other mod)

The mod has been tested on a fresh install of FNV on GOG (windows 10, 64 bit) without any other mods. Should be compatible with anything that doesn't the Hard Luck Blues quest or its terminals. If you wanna be sure, put it below a mod you suspect of also altering these files. Should be compatible with Vault 34 Ghouls wear suits (however this was untested). I recommend the espless version to make sure that no files contradict.

Version 1.3 includes an optional file that is compatible with TLD and should be compatible with FPGE. Use EITHER of the two files, NOT BOTH!

Version 1.1 changes:
- slightly increased required science skill checks
- removed location markers for the "Find Radiation Source" stage. Now you have to actually find the radiation source.
- changed the quest reward

Full list of new options (SPOILERS AHEAD):

Quest can now be "failed" (so far I've only been able to soft-lock it, but it essentially fails the quest anyway) if you do one of the following:
- Transfer all control to ReactorAutoRun.exe
- Destroy the terminal

Quest can also be completed by helping BOTH NCR Sharecroppers and Vault dwellers. After reading SOS signal, you will receive an extra option:
Science 35-65: "Seal vents and transfer control." This results in a Critical error and the automatic safety system prevents meltdown by blasting the ventillation shafts with C4. As a result, Sharecroppers will suffer, but Vault 34 dwellers will be able to leave.
Science 65+: "Seal vents and transfer control." This results in BOTH good endings at the same time. Reactor runs at lower capacity but enough to let the Vault dwellers escape, but at low enough rate not to spread radiation to the farms. You will then receive all rewards from both choices of the quest.

New reward: Now Horowitz will give you a few "vault trinkets". These include special Nuka Colas (that may be more useful in another mod I'm working on right now), a Vault 34 jumpsuit (that you can give to Sarah) and a Pulse Gun (the same one you can get from Vault 34's Armory).
