Game Groups > Setting: Ship / Boat
Games which are set on a ship, a boat or another explorable above-water vessel for a reasonable portion of their length. Usually these kinds of games are exploration or adventure based games, but any genre is fine as long as you get to play on a ship.
Limitations
-
The games must have a reasonable or a significant part of them take place on a ship. Having cutscenes or very brief transitional sections set on a ship generally do not count.
-
Games where you play as the ship, or simulation games where you commandeer a ship, it should be excluded. Same goes for games where you use a ship purely as a means of transport and don't get to spend time freely on it otherwise, should also be excluded.
-
Games with ships that were not made for water, even if they are modeled after such ships, should be excluded. E.g. Starship Titanic.
-
It's irrelevant if the ship is afloat, landed or sunk, as long as the ship is still the primary setting for a reasonable portion of the game. Scuba diving specific games should go under their own game group, however: Gameplay feature: Scuba diving / Snorkeling.
-
This group is about vessels made for above-water traversal (even if they're sunk), so submarines should be excluded. They do have their own group, however: Theme: Submarine and Setting: Military Submarine / U-Boat.
