About

Join us every Second Saturday for THRIVE @ MoAD Community Day with free admission to all our exhibitions. Across the globe, museums are increasingly being recognized as having an important role to play in promoting personal and social well-being in partnership with the health care industry. Studies have shown that engagement with art and culture aid in brain function, processing trauma, and reducing the stigma of mental illness.

WALK-IN TICKETS ARE WELCOME AND AVAILABLE.

From 12-2pm, join us for a family art activity led by teaching artist Nicole Dixon in the MoAD lobby.

At 1pm MoAD invites visitors to explore the current exhibitions on view with a family-friendly tour! Meet in the lobby at 1pm to begin the tour.

From 12-3pm in the MoAD Salon join us for Art Workshop: Crochet Jam presented by Ramekon O'Arwisters.

Crochet Jam, hosted by sculptor Ramekon O'Arwisters, uses the folk-art tradition of crocheting strips of fabric into free-form and organic soft sculptures to foster social interaction, creativity, and liberation. There aren't any rules nor patterns.

Crochet Jam is an opportunity for play, experimentation, and for allowing the material to transform naturally without any expectations nor any attempt to control the outcome. Participants become a conduit for the transformation of the material without any resistance, whether they like what they see or not. Participants just crochet and calmly observe without judgment or critique.

No attempt is made to dictate the creative process and there is no focus on the finished product. Materials and basic instruction in crochet provided.
