July 28: OF Forrest Wall recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville
Wall, who was claimed from the Braves on July 25, has 28 career MLB games on his resume from 2023-24. He fills the vacant spot on the 26-player roster following the Jazz Chisholm Jr. trade.
July 27: RHP Max Meyer recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville; LHP Austin Kitchen optioned to Jacksonville
Meyer was set to make his first Major League start since April 13 on Saturday in Milwaukee. Kitchen, who was recalled on Friday, did not appear in a game.
July 27: Marlins acquire C Agustin Ramirez, INF Jared Serna and INF Abrahan Ramirez from Yankees for CF/2B Jazz Chisholm Jr.
In the organization's second Deadline deal of the week, the Marlins added a pair of Top 30 prospects, plus a strong performer from the Florida Complex League. More >>
July 26: RHP Emmanuel Ramirez recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville; RHP Roddery Muñoz optioned to Triple-A
Ramirez would be available for multiple innings if needed. Muñoz gave up six runs in five innings Thursday and has a 5.61 ERA in 12 games (11 starts).

LHP Braxton Garrett (left forearm flexor strain)
Expected return: Late August/Early September
Garrett, who was placed on the IL on June 23 after he was scratched from his scheduled start, continues to play catch in Jupiter, Fla. (Last updated: July 26)
OF Dane Myers (left ankle fracture)
Expected return: By season's end
Myers is completing upper-body workouts in Jupiter, Fla., after fracturing his left ankle on July 13 when he kicked a door in the clubhouse following his eighth-inning ejection. Myers saw a foot specialist upon the team's return to Miami on July 14 and was wearing a boot on his left foot prior to the opener against the Mets on July 19.
According to manager Skip Schumaker, Myers will not be out for the season, but it's going to be "some time." (Last updated: July 26)

RHP Sandy Alcantara (Tommy John surgery)
Expected return: 2025
Alcantara, who is with the club for their July 26-28 series in Milwaukee, is scheduled to throw his second bullpen on July 27. He threw his first bullpen session on July 24 in Miami, getting in 20 pitches. He had been playing catch up to that point.
Alcantara initially felt discomfort in his arm on the 94th and final pitch of his Sept. 3 start against the Nationals and was diagnosed with a right forearm flexor strain. An MRI later revealed a right UCL sprain. He began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Jacksonville on Sept. 21 but shut himself down after experiencing forearm tightness and underwent Tommy John surgery on Oct. 6. (Last updated: July 26)
LHP Ryan Weathers (left index finger strain)
Expected return: Sometime in August
Weathers was transferred to the 60-day IL on July 7 to make space on the 40-man roster and continues to play catch in Jupiter, Fla. He was pulled after giving up a two-run homer to Cleveland's Brayan Rocchio on the 40th pitch of his June 7 start. (Last updated: July 26)
LHP Josh Simpson (left elbow ulnar neuritis)
Expected return: Sometime in August
Simpson, who underwent surgery for left elbow ulnar neuritis on April 23, is scheduled to throw one inning or 25 pitches in a live batting practice on July 27 in Jupiter, Fla. He threw a 35-pitch bullpen on July 23.
Simpson had tossed one inning for Single-A Jupiter on April 6 after previously completing one inning and 25 pitches in an extended spring training game on April 2 before experiencing a setback. Simpson, who opened the season on the injured list (retroactive to March 25), didn't pitch in a Grapefruit League game following his Feb. 27 outing after he began to feel discomfort. LHP Jesús Luzardo (lumbar stress reaction)
Expected return: Sometime in August
Luzardo is doing bike workouts and is focusing on forearm and shoulder strengthening. He was placed on the 15-day IL on June 22, then was transferred to the 60-day IL on June 23. He was scratched from his June 22 start after dealing with the back issue for a couple of weeks. (Last updated: July 26)
RHP Sixto Sánchez (right shoulder inflammation)
Expected return: Sometime in August
Sánchez is completing activities in Jupiter, Fla., and building intensity with throwing and bullpens after he was transferred to the 60-day IL on June 25. After experiencing a big dip in velocity in his May 31 start vs. Texas, he was placed on the IL on June 2. Sánchez has had a history of major shoulder problems, including two surgeries that caused him to miss three big league seasons from 2021-23. (Last updated: July 26)
RHP Eury Pérez (right UCL tear)
Expected return: 2025
Pérez is working on total-body strengthening, including his forearm and shoulder. He opened the season on the injured list (retroactive to March 25). Pérez had Tommy John surgery on April 8 after experiencing soreness in his bullpen session on April 2. He was transferred to the 60-day IL on April 4.
Pérez's recurring nail issue had forced him to exit for precautionary reasons after just 14 pitches on March 13, but the bigger issue arose the following morning when he reported feeling soreness in his right elbow. (Last updated: July 26)
OF Dillon Head (left hip surgery; No. 6 on the Marlins top prospect list)
Expected return: 2025
Miami's No. 6 prospect underwent season-ending left hip femoral acetabular impingement surgery on June 21. Head was sent on a rehab assignment with the Florida Complex League Marlins on June 4, but he hasn't played since June 5.
Head appeared in three games for Single-A Jupiter after joining the Marlins' organization in the Luis Arraez trade before being placed on the Minor League seven-day injured list on May 20 with an undisclosed injury. He previously missed time with an adductor strain. (Last updated: June 18)
