All whoare interested in becoming a civil mediator are welcome to attend CommunityMediation Minnesota’s online 30 Hour Civil Mediation Skills Training. Attending all 30 hours is required in order to meet Minnesota Rule 114 CivilMediation requirements. Those who complete this course can apply to becomeMinnesota Qualified Neutrals on the Supreme Court Civil Mediation Roster. CLECredits can be applied.

- Conflict is inevitable. Participantswill discuss what are the ways that conflict can be handled with special focuson understanding where mediation fits into the continuum of dispute resolutionprocesses.
Listeningand Reflecting 1.0 (Tuesday, July 23, 11:45-12:45)
- Participants will be engaged in avariety of exercises on communication – both listening and reflecting
FramingTopics 1.5 (Thursday,July 25, 9:15-10:45)
- Participants will practice identifyingthe topics to be covered in a mediation with a focus on being complete andneutral
Ethicsin Mediation 2.0 (Tuesday, July 30, 10:45-12:45)
- Now that participants have learned howto mediate, we will look at the ethics of mediation. After being introduced toa framework for thinking about ethical issues, participants will work with theAppendix to Rule 114 to work through ethical dilemmas which focus on conflictsof interest, confidentiality and admissibility of evidence, neutrality, andsupport of party self determination among others.

Must have basic circle keeping knowledge to join this class, you can find links to MARS Circle Keeping 101 and details at www.mediationservice.org if you do not already have circle keeping training.
Only chose 1 session date.
Minimum of 8 participants required to host this training, you will be notified within a week of the date if the class will not be hosted due to attendance.
This is for those individuals looking to deepen their understanding of the circle process. This training will dive into the importance of a trauma-informed approach, values that ground their own circle-keeping, and the ways that liberation, equity, and wellness are present in restorative practices. Participants will also have the opportunity for additional circle-keeping practice.
