Handling of Personal Information

LY Corporation (“LY” or “we”) will collect every applicant’s the name, date of birth, age, gender, address, telephone number (including mobile phone number), e-mail address, application form, the content of resume/CV (including work experience, reasons for application, qualifications, annual income and disabilities, etc.), and any other information(for example, the results of tests, references, etc. conducted during the recruitment process) that can be reasonably used to identify a specific individual (“Personal Information”).. We consider the protection of Personal Information to be one of the most important management issues as a personal information handling operator.
LY will act in compliance with social norms such as the laws, regulations and internal rules, etc. and make efforts to properly protect Personal Information. In addition, we will review our internal rules along with changes in social norms to protect Personal Information continuously and constantly.
Please agree to the following before applying for this position. We will comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and any other laws related thereto for the handling of Personal Information.

Scope of This Document

This document applies to all Personal Information we collect from applicants.

Collection of Personal Information

LY will collect Personal Information directly and indirectly as below.
Please note that we may not be able to proceed with recruitment activity if Personal Information is not provided.
(1) LY directly collects Personal Information
We collect personal information directly when the applicant provides Personal Information through a document, other media, orally or otherwise.
(2) LY indirectly collects Personal Information
We collect personal information indirectly, such as when we receive personal information from a third party based on laws and regulations or with the consent of the applicant.

Purposes of Collecting / Using Personal Information

Recruitment Purposes
LY will use applicants' Personal Information for the following purposes:
(1) Deciding whether the applicant matches with the character, skills or experiences etc. we are looking for during our screening and interview process;
(2) Contacting the applicant as part of the application process, including, without limitation, scheduling interviews;
(3) Checking our previous applications to see if this applicant has applied to LY in the past;
(4) Conducting tests such as SPI or references to third parties by us or the third parties that received outsourcing tasks from LY;
(5) Formulating recruitment data analytics for our future recruitment policy;
(6) Recommending the applicants other positions;
(7) Collecting applicant feedback on the recruitment process through a questionnaire or others;
(8) Providing information for various events regarding recruitment;
(9) Sending goods or others associated with participation in internships;
(10) Contacting or sending position details to applicants who have rejected the offers or been rejected by LY previously.

Onboarding Purposes
In the case that an applicant joins LY, we will use such applicant's Personal Information for the following purposes:
(1) Conducting purposes necessary for human resources/labor management.

Outsourcing Personal Information

LY may outsource Personal Information to third parties/subcontractors (including subcontractors located outside of Japan) only to the extent necessary to carry out the purposes of use therefore.

Restrictions on Use of Personal Information

LY will not handle Personal Information beyond the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use, except as required by law. We will take appropriate actions to ensure that Personal Information is not used for any other purpose.

Provision of Personal Information

LY will not provide Personal Information to third parties except in the following cases:
(1) When disclosure of Personal Information is legally required by law or by government;
(2) When providing Personal Information to group companies (For example, parent companies, subsidiaries, and affiliates ("parent company", "subsidiary" and "affiliate" as defined respectively in the Regulations regarding Financial Statements' terminologies, forms, and the way of making Financial Statements, etc.)), NAVER Corporation, affiliated companies, and equity method affiliates of NAVER Corporation, for the sharing recruitment policies, etc.
(3) In addition to the above cases, when it is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, safety, or other important benefits of LY or the applicant, or when it is reasonably necessary to provide or outsource Personal Information to third parties based on Purposes of Collecting/Using Personal Information;
2. "Third parties" as defined above shall include businesses, etc. located in the following countries or regions (Including countries or regions that will be included below in the future)
・The United Kingdom and EEA member states
・Countries or regions that have received adequacy decision from the European Commission
・Countries participating in the APEC CBPR
・Other countries separately determined by LY

Security Control Measures

LY will take necessary and appropriate measures to control access to Personal Information, to prevent unauthorized access, to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of Personal Information, and to manage Personal Information otherwise safely.
We also regularly review our management system to ensure that these security control measures are properly implemented.
All application documents such as resumes/CV, will be kept in a strictly confidential level in accordance with LY's Document Management Regulations, and will be disposed appropriately at the end of the retention period. Please note that application documents will not be returned.

Disclosure/Correction/Deletion

Applicants may request disclosure of Personal Information that collected by LY in accordance with procedures established by LY, except where required by law. In this case, disclosure fee will be charged for each request.
Correction, addition, or deletion of Personal Information ("Correction, etc."), or suspension of use or deletion of Personal Information ("Suspension of Use, etc.") can be conducted in accordance with procedures established by LY. In this case, we may ask applicants to submit documents that prove that the information they are requesting correction, etc. is true.
Please note that in either case, information related to the recruitment process, such as reasons for rejection, will not be included.
