Georgetown Master of Law and Technology 2023-2024 Deadline Extended

Georgetown Law is currently accepting applications for its Master of Law and Technology (MLT) program, designed for non-lawyers who want a career shaping technology policy but do not need to practice law. This unique, interdisciplinary program positions computer scientists, engineers, policymakers, entrepreneurs, civil society advocates, journalists and more, to take a well-rounded knowledge of technology law out into their fields.

The MLT is unique in its focus on the role of law: students take 24 credits of classes focused on how the law impacts the constantly shifting technology industry and how it is regulated. Students tailor their experience to their specific interests. The options for a customized experience abound in Georgetown Law's expansive tech curriculum, which contains over one hundred classes. Available classes range from foundational courses in antitrust, intellectual property, and privacy, to specialized seminars on topics like Artificial Intelligence and National Security; Cybersecurity Risks, Rules, Responsibilities and Recovery; FinTech and Financial Democratization; and Policing in the 21st Century: Law Enforcement, Technology and Surveillance.

The program was created by Professors Paul Ohm and Meg Leta Jones, renowned technology law and policy scholars who focus on unique interdisciplinary programming meant to prepare students for careers crafting policy in government, industry, and civil society roles. Professors Ohm and Jones continue to mentor the MLT students and foster the program's growth and development.

More information on the degree is available here, and applications are open on a rolling basis until the program is full. Additional questions can be sent to TechInstitute@law.georgetown.edu. Only a handful of spots remain, so get your application in soon!
