Project on alternative tech / innovation for sustainable development...

Posting this on behalf of a good friend (well known investor based out of Bglr). If you are interested, please write to me directly at alok@stellarisvp.com

This is an opportunity to work on a "out of the box", potentially high-impact non-profit project alongside an eminent economist and a key influencer of public and business policy in India and a senior executive and VC investor based in Bangalore. The concept is how can India use technologies and innovation across industries to drive a more sustainable and lower resource consumption growth model.

The key driver is that a large country like India with 1.2 billion people cannot logically scale up in the resource intensive way western countries did. E.g. can India accommodate even 1 car per family of 5 (that will be 250M cars from the current about 30M!) and build the roads/ infra needed? Similarly use of water, construction and the resources needed, e-waste, etc. Instead, India can lead the path of a more sustainable growth using innovation.

We are looking for a passionate person (somebody with a consulting or market research background will be ideal ) who can help us with the ground work and also be a co-author. This will need 4-6 weeks of effort. The "incentive" - besides the challenge and the satisfaction of working on a national level impact project - will be be a chance to closely work with innovators and eminent folks who will be willing to give references, etc.
