Creativity in prompting

Good prompting requires creativity. Creative prompts are essential tools that help ignite creativity and enhance the writing process. They serve as starting points for generating ideas, sparking artistic explorations, and breaking through creative blocks. The process of interpreting a prompt can enhance idea generation skills, find connections between concepts, and lead to fresh and innovative solutions. Prompts offer both constraint and freedom, providing a structured starting point while allowing for diverse interpretations and creative expressions. Therefore, incorporating creative prompts in writing practices can significantly contribute to fostering creativity and expanding artistic horizons.

I am working on my prompting skills daily and have made decent progress. I never regarded myself as creative - now starting to realize that my highly innovative traits (based on e.g. Myers-Briggs) actually do borderline creativity, especially in creative problem-solving capabilities, while I have falsely associated creativity with artistic creativity which is a too narrow interpretation. Self-reflection, self-awareness are human characteristics that become highly valuable in times of artificial intelligence, machine learning and GenAI.

How's your prompting going? Any revelations, breakthroughs or hurdles?
