It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to the legendary film producer Jon Landau. Jon’s passion and dedication to excellence also came through in our collaboration with him on Avatar. He accompanied us to always go one step further to convey the films’ profound messages into an interactive experience. Respecting nature, valuing different cultures, reconnecting with your true self – these principles resonate deeply with what we seek to accomplish through our games. Jon’s legacy will continue to inspire us at Ubisoft and many others in entertainment.
Damn it. I didn’t know him, but surely was a great, great man. May his soul rest in peace. I hope you at Ubisoft took everything great and extraordinary this man gave you to keep pushing the limits of what entertainment is. Not only that: most importantly, I hope he’ll be remembered for what gave you goosebumps or for how he made you feel. Rest in peace Mr. Landau.
One of the highlights of working at Ubisoft was getting to work on projects with incredible creatives like Jon. What a great man.
This man has inspired a whole generation with his movie "Avatar". Even if he didn't get to his objectives (ex : releasing other films about this univers of his like he announced years before), he succeded to give us a beautiful movie. A legend that keeps bringing us dreams even after his death.
Never saw him without a smile on his face. Was such an honor to be part of a crew he led, he was a great presence and someone you always wanted to do your very best for. Rest well sir
Oh no. Just found out about it. Was fortunate to briefly meet Mr. Landau back in 2010. He was a nice man and a creative force supporter to be reckoned with. RIP, Mr. Landau. 🙏🏽
Thank you for saying this. A tremendous loss for us all.
😢
And he was always a good dresser too!

2wGregoire Gabalda - our team dinner (with Massive) in Malmo listening to Jon casually explain how he went about assessing the viability commercially of film projects remains one of the high points of that era for me. What a privilege.
