Did you know August is Black Philanthropy Month? Black-led nonprofits remain underfunded by donors compared to White-led organizations. Originally conceived during the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s 2023 Greater Giving Summit, the Giving Platform Collaborative and the BackBlack campaign underscore the importance of collaborating with partners across philanthropy, business and communities to advance justice and equal opportunity. This central hub is part of the first phase where donors, giving platforms and Black-led nonprofits and organizations can connect each other with resources and funding to achieve shared goals. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/g4FZaS5B

Flipping it forward is in our DNA

Philanthropy works to increase opportunity, especially to those historically excluded. The lawsuit against Fearless Fund is an attack on the rights of philanthropic organizations to give in line with their values, as protected under the First Amendment. Attempts to restrict the values-driven work of philanthropy impact so much great work happening around the country and in our region. This would have great consequences for initiatives like the grant we provided to revitalize small-town grocery access for rural residents in North Dakota.
