Helping media companies +increase audience engagement +grow digital revenue +work flow optimization/content creation
Were you on your college newspaper staff? I was! It was a great way to get experience and have clips to send off for jobs later on. Today college students have to think about more than just their work samples. They need to be tech ready (something I didn't have to think about.) Here is a great case study about how Northwest Missouri State is thinking about students' future careers and giving them a running start by using BLOX in their newsroom. https://lnkd.in/dtCvbvDM

Education Expert + Research Scientist + Academic + Strategist + Americorp Alum ♡ Featured in Forbes, LinkedIn News, & Yahoo News
this upcoming semester, i will be deeply analyzing and discussing the role and impact of media literacy. while it may seem like it's "just for kids," as someone who was a victim of an extremely graphic deepfake that was circulated at my job two years ago, i believe media literacy needs to be understood at every level: academic, professional, business, advocacy, content creation, and pay equity. focusing on the business and pay equity aspects of media literacy, particularly as they relate to brand media literacy, it's essential to recognize that knowledge is power. education is power because it creates sustainable pipelines of authenticity and honors those who came before. social media paired with ai-generated content can and will widen the pay gap, especially as we focus on content creators, artists, and overall creatives. i don't want to end on a bleak tone, but i believe this is a fantastic opportunity to get ahead of the power curve, create differentiation in the market, and solidify credibility. i predict that we will see corporate and brand partnerships with academics because it adds a safety net in credibility. ---- 💭 let me know what y'all think ;-P ☎ text me for all college & career related resources: https://lnkd.in/g76_weVX

Clinical and Translational Scientist | Biomarker Discovery | Early Phase Clinical Trials | Weill Cornell PhD
Navigating private sector job applications can be challenging due to industry jargon and complex titles... I am hearing more and more peers and colleagues who are about to leave academia with little or no idea where to go next. They are rightfully confused about the post-academic landscape for PhDs, as nobody tells them or knows what the world outside the lab is like. I encountered this crossroad during my postdoc days, facing the challenge of navigating the process and figuring out where to begin. I asked myself: Should I simply apply for online scientist positions without truly understanding their implications? Or should I first gain a comprehensive understanding of the post-academia job landscape and then make an informed choice accordingly? Guess which one I chose :) Check the rest of the story on my new substack the BA Newsletter : https://lnkd.in/dsJrE9FD

Supporting university leaders to grow enrolment numbers so they can reinvest in the student experience. Keynote speaker.
Eat your greens! Sometimes we see open day/applicant day talks emphasising a university’s focus on ‘employability’ or its ‘applied’ nature. We all know this is important so we want prospective students to care about it. But this message may be received in two ways: 1) A bit preachy? We know what’s good for you so eat your greens! Or 2) Lost in translation? A 17 year old may never have uttered the words ‘applied’ or employability’ in everyday conversation. It likely means very little to them. We’ve seen some great examples of how universities can turn these important features into meaningful benefits. They tell powerful stories, they bring in alumni and they have compelling employer testimonials. And remember, prospective students may not care about everything your institution does. They care about what THEY care about. The open day/applicant day message should never be left to chance.
