Over the past three years, Represent Justice has used the power of storytelling to reach millions of people with firsthand stories about the legal system. Through this work, what has become urgently clear is the need for continued growth of narrative infrastructure: equipping system-impacted storytellers with the tools, knowledge, confidence and platforms to strategically reach the right audiences, at the right time, and in the right places with firsthand stories that inspire people to act. To act in favor of policy or legislation, but also to act on the belief that their stories matter, and that change is possible. We are now taking everything we’ve learned and entering a new phase of our work. Introducing the Represent Justice 2024-26 Strategic Plan. https://lnkd.in/gc52d3H2

APS Fellow Margaret Bull Kovera uncovers how judges and juries evaluate expert scientific testimony. Quick takes: ⚖️ Judges, attorneys, and juries poorly evaluate the quality of expert evidence in legal proceedings. 🔎 Cross-examination of experts and opposing testimony from another authority only sometimes help jurors see flaws in research presented as evidence. 📝 Scholars must continue to study how to make science more digestible to help judges and juries reach well-informed decisions. https://lnkd.in/eip2ydgU
