Web3, Culture and Community I keep on hearing and reading a lot about web3 culture and community and have been lucky enough to live it over the past months via several group chats, collectors and passionate people. One of the communities I follow daily and actively participate in is The Memes. A community that rallies behind the mission of fighting for decentralisation, community and self-sovereignty. https://lnkd.in/dmSy-vwq The community consists of people from all ways of life and from all over the world. Some join just for fun but most are there to support the mission, build the community and help each other out. Over the Christmas break, the seize.io community just went through a major upgrade introducing three new features: 1) The ability to log in (with your ETH wallet) and secure/seize a username and profile ✊ 2) CIC (community Identity check): which is a way in which the community can awards points to other users to confirm users are who they actually say they are. Nothing better than this to ensure no bots around 🤖 ❌ 3) REP (short for reputation): which is a way in which users can handout points to vouch for someone’s ability to do something such as web3 safety. 👍 How does the points system work out? Well, to have points to award, you have to actually own one or more of the Memes Collection NFTs and hold them. The more days you hold them, the more points you will have to hand out. It’s quite an interesting web3 social experiment that has just gotten started but I believe has been years in the making. Curious to see where this goes and actively participating. Seems like after all, the devs have been up to something. 😎 Give it a try and seize your username on https://seize.io/. Need help, DM me. Have a great week! ✌

Building a gaming community is about making a place where players feel like they belong and want to stick around. You start by setting up spots where everyone can chat and connect, like forums or in-game chat rooms. Think of it as the local hangout spot where everyone knows your name. You need some basic rules to keep things cool and not let trolls or troublemakers ruin the fun for everyone else. It's like telling your buddies to take off their muddy shoes before they come into your house. Keep things lively with events like competitions, developer chats, or fan content sharing. It's like throwing a regular party that people don't want to miss because there's always something new happening. Listening to what players say is super important. If they've got ideas or gripes, show that you're actually paying attention. When players feel heard, they're more likely to be loyal and invested in the community. And when you see someone really helping out or making the community better, give them a shout-out. It's like giving props to a friend who always brings the best snacks to the party. So, building a community is about creating a place where everyone can have a good time, share their love for the game, and feel like they're part of a crew. Keep it real, keep it friendly, and keep the conversation going.

Is Community a Utility? ⭐ 🎇 Let's explore this question. What is utility? 🤔 Utility is something that provides value. It can be a physical object, a service, or even an experience. 😀 What Is Community? 👇 👇 A community is a group of people who share common interests or goals. It can be online or offline, and it can be small or large. 👫 Is Community a Utility? 👇 👇 In a traditional sense, community is not a utility. People can form communities without using any products or services. However, in the context of Web3, community can provide a great deal of utility. 🌐 Here are a few ways that community can be a utility in Web3: 👇 👇 • Community can provide access to exclusive products and services: For example, many NFT projects offer holders exclusive access to events, merchandise, and other benefits. 🛍 • Community can provide support and resources: Web3 communities can be a great place to learn about new projects, get help with troubleshooting, and find collaborators. 📚 • Community can provide a sense of belonging and identity: Web3 communities can be a place where people can connect with others who share their values and interests. 🤝 Whether or not you consider the community to be a utility, there is no doubt that it plays an important role in Web3. Community can provide access to exclusive products and services, support and resources, and a sense of belonging and identity. 🔥 👇 👇 🚨P.S.🚨 If you like content like this. Imagine this: You finally get your hands on that new game you’ve wanted. You can’t wait to play. You rush home and fire up your console. First up, there’s a tutorial. It’s a little basic and there’s not much happening. You pray things get a little more interesting in the ‘real game’. You are confident they will. But they don't. It’s more of the same. It’s easy, boring and there’s no storyline. That would suck, right? Well, this is how your community members feel when you fail to map out their journey. They: - Get bored - Struggle to stay motivated - Spend less and less time engaging Mapping out your member’s journey is one of, if not the, most important parts of community building imo. It should not be overlooked. Yet it often is. And it should go deeper than saying, “We want members to achieve [enter goal].” It should be a comprehensive plan with: - Actions - Milestones - Thoughtful progression - Challenges - Rewards - Personalisation - Feedback loops The full shebang! Just like in a video game, your community experience should move forward and develop over time. And most importantly, it should fill members with hope, excitement and meaningful experiences to keep them coming back. Fancy winging it and hoping for the best? Be my guest. But don’t complain when it all goes t*ts up 🙊 #Community

The past two years have been excruciating for our industry. However, these challenging times have shown us the value of a strong community and the need to support one another. We are grateful for the warm welcome from the LinkedIn community! 🙏 We want to give back the fantastic support we’ve received! At GDS, we’ve dedicated our efforts to these two areas: 1. Providing game design experts with a platform to share their expertise and amplify their voices to reach those who need it the most right now. 2. Offering game design portfolio/resume reviews and career guidance through our Funsmith Club Discord server. So, if you or anyone you know needs help with their design portfolio or has any questions on: - Balance - Systems - Core loops - Game mechanics - Prototyping & iteration - General design questions Tag them in the comments or share this post with them so they can submit their portfolio for review on our Discord server. We’ve helped dozens of people tailor their portfolios to their target roles and improve the structure and readability of their portfolios. Some of you might feel reluctant to reach out due to shyness or insecurity... Don't hesitate—there are no engagement or participation requirements! You're welcome, regardless of experience or connection to our community. But here’s a secret…🤫 Sharing a meme or pet picture in our introduction channel will get you some love. There are over 1,662 game devs in the community; you'll brighten at least one person's day. So reach out! You can find the link to our Discord server in the comments. 👇 ♻️ P.S. Share this post with anyone in your network who needs help with their design portfolio or is stuck on stuck on a design problem.
