In this video, I show an example of a mini publication being produced by MOJO Magazine for Apple News+. Apple pays out a percentage of revenue from Apple News+ subscribers to publishers, who deliver premium content in return. That payout is based primarily on the amount of time that readers spend with a publication's articles (Active Time). MOJO publishes a magazine every month, and in between those dates they realized there was an opportunity to drive more revenue by increasing the amount of output, using our News+ CMS and delivery tool, FlatPlan+ These Collector's Editions are digital mini-magazines on specific genres or bands (I show their Depeche Mode issue in the video), which increase the amount of content Apple News+ readers can land on. FlatPlan+ allows Bauer to write and design their articles, publish them as a magazine, and deliver them directly to Apple News+.

After the Digital Markets Act entered into force, I received questions from non-EU game devs trying to determine if the rights and safeguards brought by the act also cover them. Leading global talent and some of the best public funding instruments are no longer the only key reasons to have a studio in the EU. If you have a studio in the EU, you have the right and means to fight back when a gatekeeper platform removes your game from an application store. Therefore, these Commission's preliminary conclusions on Apple's non-compliance and notification of further investigations on Apple's compliance with DMA are crucial. They demonstrate that the Commission is taking action to ensure that the new rights of game developers are correctly implemented and that the Commission is taking the feedback from stakeholders like EGDF seriously. If you have any further concerns about Apple's Core Technology fee, Apple's user journey to download and install games outside the Apple Appstore or the eligibility requirements for launching your own third-party application stores or making your games available for sideloading directly from the web, do not hesitate to share them with the Commission. Decline and fall of the peer review I was surprised to see today that, according to Google N-grams, we have reached "peak peer review" in the far late ninenties. To put it in perspective, this was the time when the radio (or MTV) was playing Macarena, My Heart Will Go On and maybe Bailamos, but that was already too late. The rise of open access publishing doesn't explain this alone, and of course this chart represents only the documents analysed. but they should be representative enough. If somebody can advance some explaination, apart of the end of enlightment and the beginning of a new middle age, is welcome. link in the comments #science #publishing #peerreview
