When to get more Techs? When scaling your alarm company, what comes first, more techs or sales. This dilemma raises a concern for most companies because they don’t want to bite off more than they can chew. Every company is different, but this is situational. Depending on the backlog would determine if it’s the right time to hire or not. If a company is a couple of weeks out, keeping existing staff while increasing sales demand is best to warrant hiring more techs. If the demand creates a monthly backlog, then hire more techs. It’s worth hiring subcontractors to help until you properly hire and train more techs. This provides relief while allowing you to keep up with the demand. Sales should always take precedence over everything. No sales, no company. P.S. Sales demand will help you keep people permanently while continuing to grow.
