Always open... to new applicants and future coworkers to myself. At Axis we have some core values that we actively promote and try to hold on. My favorite one is "Always open". It can have many interpretations, but to me the meaning is that we should be open in a broad sense. Open to contacts, discussions, ideas. To allow the actual interaction to happen, to have an open mind and really listen. Although we have our own office (most of us anyway), the door should always be open. Throughout my working years, I have strived to really listen, be open to other ideas, and to be gentle (most time) when pushing my own ideas. If you can help a colleague to take the next step, to get past something blocking, to educate them, or to help them take a decision, you are, according to me, on the right path. Not only in personal development for both you and the colleague, but also for the company.
