Electrada is proud to announce the release of its White Paper on Fleet Electrification. Read it and understand why fleets operating daily routes under 200 miles are ready to electrify now. Across the U.S., about 20 million vehicles, including 3 million in California, fit the ready-to-electrify-now profile. And with escalating state mandates, led by California, that will dramatically boost the number of EVs on the road, and in turn require a depot charging infrastructure strategy, the time is now for short- and medium-distance fleets to start planning the transition. https://hubs.la/Q02mfLhl0 Have questions about how Electrada can help accelerate your fleet electrification? Two announcements demonstrate that wireless charging for electric vehicles may be coming as the auto industry shifts to electric power. The city of Detroit and the Michigan Department of Transportation on Wednesday said crews have finished installing a short wireless-charging public roadway. About a quarter-mile stretch of 14th Street in the city, between Marantette and Dalzelle streets, has been equipped with charging coils. EVs equipped with receivers made by a company named Electreon can be charged by driving on the street. The city and MDOT said in a statement the roadway will be used to test the technology “in a real-world environment and perfect it ahead of making it available to the public in the next few years.” MDOT and Electreon have entered a five-year agreement to develop an electric road system, with the technology being tested on Michigan roads. When an EV with a receiver nears the in-road charging segments, electricity is transferred wirelessly through a magnetic field to the vehicle’s battery. Electricity can be transferred while the vehicle is parked or driving. According to the statement, each coil in the road is activated only when a vehicle with an approved receiver passes over the coil. That is to ensure energy transfers are controlled “and provided only to vehicles that require it.” #smartcities https://lnkd.in/g4KaJCpd

in continuation of earlier post......... Point no. 3 Scalability: With the increasing popularity of electric vehicles, scalability is crucial. Charging infrastructure must be able to accommodate the growing number of EVs on the road. This requires careful planning and investment in expanding and upgrading charging networks. #Reluxelectric #Sustainability

🔌🚗 The German government wants more than 15 million electric cars on the road by 2030. That's an ambitious target that should pave the way for sustainable mobility. But how to achieve it? 💡 The answer lies in a massive expansion of charging infrastructure. After all, who wants to worry about recharging their batteries all the time? ✅ According to the Federal Government's plans, one million publicly accessible charging stations should therefore be built by 2030. 👉 This is to be achieved thanks to financial support and simplified approval procedures. The plan also envisages greater user-friendliness through uniform standards, understandable prices and convenient payment options. Quality is also to be ensured by monitoring and certification. ✅ But there is still a lot of work to be done before then. Because according to the charging point register of the Federal Network Agency, 75,643 normal charging points and 17,029 fast charging points were in operation on 1 May 2023. This number should be increased urgently. Because the acceptance of electric vehicles depends crucially on user-friendly, safe, comprehensive and efficient charging options. 💪 We can help you remain competitive even in a volatile environment. There are projections showcasing that there will be up to 1 million electric commercial vehicles by 2030 in America. Commercial fleets are the lifeblood of the U.S. supply chain. If that many vehicles are going electric, we need to move FAST to get the infrastructure in place to support them. I hear a lot about the fear of transitioning a fleet and having nowhere to charge it. That’s a valid fear – we cannot disrupt access to food, medical supplies and critical goods. When I hear that fear, I try to share the vast quantity of solutions in place for EV charging infrastructure. Yes, some of them take years to make possible, BUT there are also OnDemand options to bridge the gap. Our Prologis Mobility team just put together a white paper – an easy source on the why and how of adopting EV fleets and deploying charging infrastructure.
