We are introducing our new Rotor Lock Actuator (RLA) at the SIA POWERTRAIN in Lille, France, from June 19 to 20, 2024! ✨ The module specifically designed for electric vehicles combines three key functions in one unit: ✔️ a park lock function, ✔️ precise rotor position sensing and ✔️ optionally also the brush system for externally excited synchronous machines (EESM). By integrating these functions into one module, the RLA reduces complexity, packaging space on the e-axle and costs for our customers. 🤝 Do you want to know more? 🔗 Check out the press release for deeper insights: https://ow.ly/5H5450SlBFY #vitescotechnologies #rotorlockactuator #innovation #weareelectrified #siapowertrain #sia2024

Q. What modifications in exhaust gas emission measurements are foreseen under Euro 7? HORIBA’s Dr. Simone Eichmann, Product Expert NIR Spectroscopy, tells us more. A. On Dec. 18, 2023, the European Parliament, European Council and European Commission agreed on a provisional deal on emission limits for road vehicles. Replacing both Euro 6 for light-duty vehicles (LDV) and Euro VI for heavy-duty vehicles (HDV), Euro 7 consolidates type approval testing for all road vehicles into a single document. For LDVs such as cars and vans, the regulation largely adopts the exhaust gas components and emission limits of Euro 6. Notably, there are changes in particle measurement requirements, reducing the minimum diameter of measurable particles from 23 nm to 10 nm. Current devices for particle number measurements need to be adopted to comply with these new rules. HDVs, including trucks and buses, undergo more extensive changes. New components, such as N2O and NMOG, are introduced, accompanied by stricter emission limits. Similar modifications in particle number measurement, as seen in LDVs, are anticipated. To ensure you are prepared for these upcoming regulations, select measurement solutions that cover PN10, N2O, and Formaldehyde measurements for both stationary and on-road applications. 💻 Don't miss HORIBA’s first webinar of the year on Feb. 27 hosted by Dr. Eichmann. She'll explore NH3 measurement technologies in automotive settings, covering methodologies and various aspects for sample handling. Designed to handle 800V this contactor will help optimize high voltage charging.
The International Automobile Exhibition IAA MOBILITY , one of the world's largest mobility trade fairs is happening from 5 to 7 September in Munich. This year's trade fair focuses on drive solutions based on 800-volt technology. Why 800-volt? Because an electric car with 800-volt technology has twice the charging capacity of 400 kW with the same current. The C801 contactor from Schaltbau is specially designed to meet the requirements of 800V vehicles and has a patented mechanical interlock system that prevents the contacts from closing even if extreme shocks of up to 120g/20ms occur. The robust, durable contactors do not require inert gas and have a high current-carrying capacity. Impressive concept in terms of electric energy transfer into the rotor. Surely - former slip ring solutions to achieve electrical contact to the rotor were a blocker in terms of reliability and durability. Inductive concepts can circumvent this. Finally it might trim down to the efficiency of inductive energy transmission and related control stability to judge whether this is the future way to go. In any case, externally excited synchronous machines are the way to the future, combining the best of IM and PMSM into one and on top enabling additional flexibility in control to improve efficiency further. No doubts that this motor type will accompany us and our electric vehicles in the near future! #electricvehicles #edrive #electricmachines #eesm #newenergy #ev
This is a real sensation: an extremely compact and powerful electric motor that does not require magnets or rare earth elements. The concept is called I2SM, which stands for In-Rotor Inductive Excited Synchronous Electric Motor. With this compact powertrain, the ZF Group is taking the lead in #sustainable and powerful electric drive technology of the future. First and foremost, not relying on rare earth elements means a 50 percent reduction in the carbon footprint of production. Doing without magnets means 15 percent less drag loss and greater efficiency, especially on long highway journeys at high revolutions per minute. Compact means in particular: up to 90 mm less axial installation space than with comparable, separately excited synchronous motors (SSM) – made possible by integrating the inductive exciter into the rotor. In terms of performance, ZF’s I2SM concept is a real alternative to the conventional permanently excited synchronous motors (PSM) of electric cars. When it comes to sustainable, efficient and resource-saving #mobility, ZF’s innovative technology is way ahead. Special thanks to Dr. João Bonifácio and his team for their great work in ZF’s System Development Advanced Engineering division. #ZFNow #FutureMobility #ElectrifiedPowertrain

The Q2 2023 Automotive industry demand forecast by the Advanced Propulsion Centre UK shows an evolving industry, as the demand for Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM) decreases in favour of more sustainable alternatives. This shift underscores the industry's drive to reduce its reliance on rare earth materials. At DG Innovate, we are not just witnessing this change but leading it, with our M-TORX magnetless motors setting a benchmark for innovation. Another great day at #ISRI2024, where we're showcasing our factory-matched motors and drives built for the #recycling industry at booth 835. What do we mean by factory-matched? At our Houston motor facility, we pair each AC or DC motor with its VFD or SCR drive in North America's most capable load testing facility. Every operating parameter is tested under load, with the motor and drive fine-tuned to deliver trustworthy performance before leaving our site. Whether for a retrofit or a new shredder build, count on us for motors and drives tuned to deliver from day one. https://hubs.ly/Q02tdRkB0 #RecyclingTechnology #RecyclingSystems #Recycling #EmissionsControl #ACMotor #DCMotor #ElectricMotor #Shredders #Sustainability #IndustrialServices #IndustrialServiceSolutions
