Viscadia is proud to announce that our whitepaper, "Navigating Uncertainty: Evaluating Risks to Enhance Drug Sales Forecast", has been published in the Journal of Pharmaceutical Management Science Association (PMSA) Spring 2024. With its ability to accommodate different drivers and barriers of sales and unforeseen disruptions, the Monte Carlo method has the potential to emerge as a vital approach for pharmaceutical companies seeking robust and adaptable drug sales forecasts in an increasingly dynamic industry landscape. This paper explores the application of the Monte Carlo method to model complex market dynamics, account for multifaceted uncertainties, and generate a spectrum of potential sales scenarios. Furthermore, the paper delves into future directions, envisioning technological advancements and the integration of Monte Carlo simulation with artificial intelligence and machine learning. Spearheading the team was Rajat Parmar, Rishabh Bawa, HIMANSHU KHANDELWAL and Varun Singh. Thank you for your hard work, collaboration and commitment to innovation. #PMSA #whitepaper #lifesciences #montecarlo #forecasting #viscadia

Had the pleasure to lead a webinar on scientific writing for IPSF - International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation Global Lab Project Key takehomes: ✅️ Once you have a testable research hypothesis and representative sample, collect your results (graphs/tables) into a storyboard to start your article layout. ✅️ Select a few journals where your work would best fit the scope and editorial expertise, download their formatting guidelines ✅️ Clearly describe your methods and reference the original source of any method you are replicating, include statistical methods used. ✅️ Keep your results section unbiased and clear for reviewers. Include negative results. ✅️ Discuss your findings, was your hypothesis validated or rejected? add limitations and next steps. ✅️ Make sure to include keywords in your title and abstract (which will be read first thing and the most by readers) ✅️ Write an introduction which brings the findings to date to the forefront and clearly outlines your original hypothesis. ✅️ AI is a useful tool but to be used with caution in scientific writing (including checking gender and race bias). Its use must be disclosed if the journal requires this. ✅️ Decide when your article is ready to submit and do it, dont wait to achieve perfection as research is an ongoing process. ✅️ Your article may be rejected by a journal for different reasons, you can always work on the reviewer feedback and submit it to another journal. Best of luck to this cohort in writing their first article!
Another impactful season with IPSF - International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation Global Lab Project on " How to write a scientific paper". With both Dr Silvia Ziliotto, PhD and Dr Georgina Harris , we learned important steps to structuring a science paper editors will take seriously. #ipsf #researchdevelopment . #ipsfapro #pngrisingscientists #healthcareeducation

#OnTheBeamlines: International Centre for Diffraction Data (ICDD)®, which curates a database of reference powder diffraction patterns of materials and pharmaceutical compounds, has teamed up with Dr. Jim Kaduk (Illinois Institute of Technology) to identify and solve more than 130 new pharmaceutical crystal structures using synchrotron light. The goal is to improve the quality of reference data available for research and development in various industries. The ICDD team, led by Dr. Anja Dosen, has collected data recently at our Brockhouse Beamline to solve and publish the unknown crystallographic structures of drug compounds in the Powder Diffraction File™ (PDF®) database and Powder Diffraction Journal. This project helps scientists, including in pharmaceuticals and forensics, identify active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) in products and detect counterfeits. Pharmaceutical companies will be able to use the findings to analyze their formulations and advance drug discovery efforts. Photo courtesy: Dr. Anja Dosen. #health #synchrotron #science #research
