Donating Vehicles to Veterans is Easy  Call Car Donation 2 Veterans, 1-888-433-6202, to schedule a pick-up. We will send a tow truck to your home to pick up your vehicle. Sign the title of your vehicle. Receive your tax deduction receipt. -- The amount of your tax deduction will depend on the value of your car. To determine the value of your car, you can use an online resource such as Kelley Blue Book or Edmunds. What Kind of Cars Can I Donate? Question: Do you only accept cars in Frederick County? Answer: No! We accept cars from anywhere. However, we only offer towing services within a 30-mile radius of our shop, so if you are outside of that area, you will have to drive your vehicle or have it towed to us. We’ve posted that donating your vehicle to #Habitat helps fund affordable homes for Future Homebuyers here in our area, but how does that happen? About half of the cars are sold to licensed dealers at wholesale auctions and are reused for transportation. The other half are typically transported to auto salvage yards where all reusable car parts, batteries, tires and fluids are removed. Vehicles that can be recycled are crushed, shredded and recycled into steel. Habitat receives funds for each donated vehicle, although a car sold at auction generally generates more revenue than one that is recycled. The neighbors who partner with us to buy an affordable home are extremely grateful for your help, as every donation truly makes a difference! Did you know that the Motability Scheme can offer up to 40 hours of free driving lessons for disabled people through their Driving Lesson Grant Programme? Motability can provide grants towards the cost of learning to drive for disabled people who have a provisional licence and want a full licence.
