I wanted to repost this for a few reasons. I’ve been thinking about AI and its pros and cons. This video speaks to a bit of both. With AI potentially doing a lot of thinking FOR us - what will we think about and how will we use the time that will be gifted back to us by AI advances? Also, there are two papers coming out from Impact XM that address #ces2024 and #brainmanagement
Impact XM is live in Las Vegas for Day 2 at #CES2024! Francesca Gangitano gave us an update on her thoughts and insights - stay tuned for more! #impactxm #franonthestreet

We work closely with People's Voice Media on a number of projects. Please check out the great event that they are hosting in May 👇 Hope to see some of you there! Community Reporting Hackathon - The 6th Annual Community Reporter Conference 10:30am - 4:30pm, Tuesday 21 May 2024 People's History Museum People’s stories help us to make sense of our world. Recently, there has been an increased interest in working with lived experience stories as data, and an openness to co-production techniques. Whilst such work can include diverse and often excluded voices into conversations, it can also make existing problems worse such as reinforcing systemic issues, further marginalising voices, and re-traumatising people. It is crucial to think critically about and be ready to improve these methods. This hackathon - funded by the NCRM - will examine how Community Reporting and other methods of lived experience storytelling can be made more inclusive and equitable. The event will bring together experts working with lived experience in research from academia, policy and practice - including experts-by-experience. Specifically, we want to make these methods: - Accessible for people who don’t communicate using spoken word - Suitable for people who are neurodivergent - Actively anti-racist in techniques and delivery At different points throughout the day, there’ll be some showcasing of projects from across the Community Reporter network - including a screening of an animation produced on the HOME? Heritage Lottery funded project. This is an in-person event, with limited availability, so please do only sign-up if you can attend. To book your place visit: https://lnkd.in/emd6VF6c

💫 End-of-Year Post to all our Rebels For Good ❤️ As we approach the New Year, we are excited to announce: ⭐ Rebel For Good's new logo and website (thanks to the incredibly talented team at Meteor 3, Inc.🙏) ⭐ Rebel For Good's first newsletter (please see this link: https://lnkd.in/gVvTB3XD) ⭐ The Launch of R4G Labs As we shared in our newsletter, the whole premise of a ‘lab’ is to experiment, to iterate, and to create new solutions by combining elements in ways that have never been done before. At the same time, a lab embodies uncertainty, the state of not knowing all of the answers. Because, let’s be honest, to really change the systemic structures of capital or to solve some of the most serious social and environmental crises we are facing - we don’t know all the answers. But we can try, we can experiment, we can continue striving for excellence in our pursuit of justice, of systemic change, of doing good. In 2024, we will be announcing R4G ‘Medici’ events throughout the country to continue identifying and gathering our ‘rebels’. Please join us in identifying and gathering the right ‘rebels’ as we continue to build out our ecosystem. We will also be seeking thought partners and co-conspirators as we move into the mobilization and activation of ‘Rebels For Good’ with R4G Labs. If you know of anyone who should be a part of the R4G Labs Ecosystem, again, please let us know. Regardless of where you may be on your impact journey, we invite you to join us as we embark on this exciting path of redefining how we can create a better world. Because now, more than ever, the world needs more Rebels For Good! #RebelsForGood #RebelsUnite #R4GLabs #PowerForGood #CapitalForGood #EndofYear #happynewyear

Aspiring Virtual Production Director with a taste for innovation & emerging tech | Homeschooled Student | Activator @ TKS | Teen Filmmaker & Entrepreneur | XR/VR/AR and AI Enthusiast |
What happens when you pick extremely curious young minds from all over the world to take part in a hackathon to solve huge problems in the world with emerging tech? Well, The Knowledge Society (TKS) has the answer to that question. Two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of working with my wonderful and hilarious teammates Raul Cervantes, Nabiha Fatima Shaik, Elif Boyacı, Mashiyat Afaf Saraf, and Mythili Rajesh to complete our first-ever hackathon with The Knowledge Society (TKS). Our team worked on Rehab-IT, which is a technology that combines BCI, AI, and haptics to help patients who are struggling with Parkinson's disease and brain damage caused by strokes and physical trauma. Our solution makes use of an exoskeleton for both upper and lower-limb rehab, and we use BCI, AI, and haptics to improve their mobility, speech, and other functions. Kind of like ReWalk Robotics, Inc. is doing, but for upper limb as well! I love receiving feedback on ways to improve myself, and I also LOVE listening to my peers' presentations. The hackathon was a significant learning experience for all of us, and I'd like to share some of the things I've learned. 💪 TAKEAWAYS ♥It's not just about the skills of your team members; the vibe is also crucial! I couldn't have asked for a better team, and even though we didn't win, I'm happy that we formed a deeper connection with such fantastic people and worked on a problem that we all cared about. 😭 Done is better than perfect. This helps me because I'm often a perfectionist! 🏆Winning isn't everything! While everyone wants to win, we sometimes get too caught up in the idea of winning and what lies at the end of the yellow brick road. We forget that it's more about the journey, the relationships we form, and the things we learn. 👏 What they say is true - be scared and do it anyway! That's the overall knowledge that TKS has taught me. Although our team didn't win, I still feel like we did in a way, and not just our team, but everyone involved. We gained more experience, and as a result, we leveled up, making us better prepared for next time! 💪 Big thank you to Joud Chataoui our judge for giving us feedback as well as Aatik Chopra for giving us harsh feedback! We all were discussing how much we appreciate that! And a HUGE thank you to my hackathon team for being so amazing! Love you guys! ♥ (The video below is one I recorded a couple of days after my team's presentation to hear more ways we could've improved!) https://lnkd.in/dD-CM_W8
