Although I have been wiped out most of the week from a Cold/Flu (I will not say the dreaded C word), this week has indicated a shift in the market, far more companies are receptive to recruitment, whether this is just coincidence or the beginning of an uplift in hiring remains to be seen. However, I think this is also due to the way in which the role of a "recruitment partner" is changing, to the point of which for the last 8 weeks, I haven’t used the work "recruitment" once when pitching to new clients or when working with existing partners. The reason being, is that the demand on a "consulting partner" is that much more than just recruitment, certainly within Renewable Energy & Sustainability. Providing a in depth reporting of insights, trends, data is one area I have increased so much more. Jumping to a client that is hiring and expecting them to agree terms for me is not the way forward, many of the new clients I am working with (including some of the biggest Globally) have started with no talk around actually supporting their needs. Its delivering insights into the market and more simply than that, getting people to like you and trust you!
