MOORING SNAP BACK.🛑🛑 ✨The sudden release of energy causes the two ends of the line to wildly recoil or “snap back” with high speed and force. ✨synthetic rope which can lash back onto a mooring deck area and ship’s crew at speeds up to 800 km/h. ✨Anyone standing within the snap-back zone at either end of the line risks serious injury or death.. 💫When proper safety protocols are not followed, too much strain can be placed on the mooring lines , causing them to break suddenly with violent force. 💫Adequate training..and safety practices and procedures must be taking during mooring operation.. such as 💫Ensure all crew that carry out mooring operations are trained in the identification and understanding of snap back zones. 💫Never stand in front of a mooring line when it is under tension. 💫The mooring team should always be wearing the proper personal protective equipment (PPE). 💫Always use a mooring line tensioner when possible. 💫Be aware of the different types of mooring lines and their breaking strengths. 💫 Be aware of snap back zones and potential pinch points.
