Often, the survivors whose stories best fit the mainstream narrative, or whose stories are the most sensational, are the ones invited to share their stories. When this kind of echo chamber is reinforced, we lose access to the stories that might better inform our work to end trafficking. Who gets left out? Survivors who were trafficked by parents or other family members, survivors of forced criminality, survivors who don't regret having done sex work or felt like it saved their lives, those who were trafficked by government officials, and more. When we only hear the same stories over and over, we create incomplete or even harmful "solutions" and miss opportunities to have a meaningful impact. The survivors interviewed in this story largely agreed that education about trafficking was a primary motivator for their storytelling, but education to DISRUPT rather than expand on mainstream narratives. At last! An outbreak of common-sense at the DfE 👏🏼 BREAKING 'Schools told they must record the SEX of all pupils in England. No school child can change their "sex recognised in law". A GRC cannot be obtained under the age of 18. This means schools must collected data on the sex every child was born, regardless of how they identify. Every term schools in England must submit data to the DfE. This is known as the School Census. The DfE determines what data is required by law.' “Bura na Mano, Holi hai” is not a justification for inappropriate touch! Inappropriately touching someone with a sexual intention is a crime. A touch is deemed inappropriate if it lacks consent and is made with a sexual intention. Examples include making someone uncomfortable by prolonged touch or sexually harassing them without permission. The consequences? Jail time ranging from one to five years along with a fine. ⚖️🚨 Learn more about laws against sexual touch by visiting https://ow.ly/oCYl50R0j0b #EqualOpportunity #EducationForAll #ChildRights #FundamentalRights #RightToEducation

Navigating sex and consent It’s difficult to even write a post about our module on this topic. It’s complex, sensitive but so important. I am just so happy we had the amazing Dr #AlexAldridge to craft what ended up being one of the most impactful modules on the course. 𝚂𝚝𝚊𝚢𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚂𝚊𝚏𝚎 places alcohol and drugs in the consent of wider university life. But this module is for everyone. It makes you reflect on who you are and how you want to behave. Do the right thing by everyone always. More information: https://lnkd.in/ewcsztxr #sexualconsent #studentwelfare #drugseducation #harmreduction

Service Head - Head of Volunteer Operations (Childline) and Participation at NSPCC - Leading Induction Training and Volunteering for Childline and Youth Participation across the NSPCC
Some recent work by Internet Matters Ltd, speaking to 11-17 year olds about 'self generated' child sexual abuse material has really highlighted huge barriers in effectively educating and deterring children from creating and sharing sexual images, with young people being clear about what has to change in the approach - smaller, gender-based group work preferred, using peer learning approaches, learning though games, and learning from those with lived experience #onlinesafety #internet #onlineharms #education #prevention #childprotection #safeguarding #onlinesafetyact #nspcc #childline #teaching #livedexperience #everychildhood

--I am sure no one wants this to be true but I am the reflection of the Florida Healthcare System
2wHOW CAN I EXPRESS THE URGENCY OF THE LACK OF OVERSIGHT AND ACCOUNTABILITY BY THE FLORIDA HEALTHCARE SYSTEM AND THE STATE OF FLORIDA'S DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY. I HAVE BEEN THROUGH WHAT MOST MENTALLY DISABLED PEOPLE COULDN'T. THIS IS MY JOB AND GOD IS MY BOSS. IT'S LIKE A DICTATOR PLAYING GOD WITH THE LIVES OF THE MOST VULNERABLE PEOPLE. I WILL REPEAT THIS OVER AND OVER UNTIL ACCOUNTABILITY AND REGULATION OF THE THOUSANDS OF VICTIMS IN FLORIDA BY THE GOVERNMENT
