Look no further than Google Research for cutting-edge #realworld #AI applications in #healthcare. Chief Health Officer Dr. Karen DeSalvo led their "The Check Up with Google Health 2024" https://lnkd.in/d8eMwr5a. Dr. DeSalvo introduced their ongoing efforts to improve our collective health with technology and methods to gain the #trust of practitioners and the public. Dr. Yossi Matias emphasized how they improve the accuracy of their #LLMs and #imagedetection models through collaborations with expert practitioners. Aashima Gupta and Dr. Michael Schlosser, MD, MBA showed how #GenAI eases many tasks on healthcare teams, such as automated documentation and summarizing medical records, while ensuring doctors control health decisions. Google's LLMs (https://lnkd.in/dShZseJU), like #MedLM and #Gemini, can summarize medical information and provide insights. Dr. Greg Corrado highlighted other models, such as those for #imageprocessing in #radiology. It was nice to hear Dr. Ivor Horn, MD, MPH, talk about how AI can be even more #ethical and #equitable than we are as humans... if we focus our attention on the #data and minimize #bias in training models. Shravya Shetty gave more examples of how Google Cloud's #APIs assist doctors in the early detection of #breastcancer and other skin, hair, and health conditions. Cait O. highlighted how these advances are integrated into Google products like #GoogleLens for everyone's use. Dr. Garth Graham emphasized YouTube's role in disseminating critical health information, especially in #healthcaredeserts. Finally, Google product lead Florence Thng discussed how products like Fitbit (now part of Google) are helping millions of people track and advance their health through AI-powered recommendations.
