Grateful for the opportunity to attend the 2024 Canadian Conference on Physician Leadership in Montréal, as a Canadian Medical Association Ambassador! D’excellents discours d’Andre Picard, Zita Cobb et Dre Verna Yiu. Three takeaways: - Primary care remains the main challenge and priority across the country, especially for geographically isolated communities and linguistic minorities. Technology undoubtedly plays a crucial role in enhancing accessibility. - Our healthcare system must pivot towards a community-centered approach, emphasizing communication and collaboration between communities and healthcare providers to better identify and address needs. - The medical community must champion family medicine and cultivate its appeal as a specialty. Dismantling misconceptions surrounding family medicine is essential, as it is the backbone of our healthcare system. Ravie de voir la communauté médicale unie autour d’une vision commune: un système de santé accessible, polyvalent et efficient.

A Global health × planetary health webinar!? The minute I saw this post here on #LinkedIn I just knew I had to be in this meeting 😁😃. I was absolutely thrilled to see that there was a virtual participation option that was open to all. A key learning point for me today was the concept of social vulnerability and how it could influence which groups of people that would carry the brunt of the effects of climate change. People with lower socio-economic status and in certain geographical areas may be predisposed to experiencing more adverse biological, social and psychological challenges from climate change. The poor and the marginalised stand the greatest risk of being left behind in very dire straits if they are not included in conversations surrounding climate adaptation and mitigation strategies. This is a very heavy reflection point for all. Most especially for those of us from LMICs where there is a lot of worsening socio-economic inequality. On a lighter note: I now know Singapore is a GMT+ 8 time zone. It wasn't easy waking up at 5am in Accra to virtually attend the meeting after working a close to 14-hour shift the day before 😂😂. By the time the meeting was wrapping up a little past 6am my local time, I had only one eye open 😂😂. #planetaryhealthenthusiast #global health #futureglobalhealthresearcher

Now on stage of plenary session 3 #EBHC2023 (08.30 – 10.45) Chair: John Ioannidis Keynote: Jordi Pardo Pardo and Holger Schünemann The global pandemic has clearly emphasized the need for rapid production of #evidence to inform clinical decision-making and help give clinicians urgent answers. In this context, researchers have tried to improve the use of forms of knowledge synthesis that produce evidence in a resource-efficient manner. Our #EBHC champions will trace the way to the future of evidence syntheses, outlining new methods and potential barriers for rapid and living syntheses.
