Each one, mentor one… On thé cover, Dr. Stephen Sanchez, DNP, CRNA (Assistant Professor, Fairfield University) and the others embedded in video attended Diversity CRNA Events as ICU Nurses and are now CRNAs. Over 820 RNs of color became CRNAs with the Immersion Model. Fun fact: Out of a 60K CRNA Workforce, only 4% are Black CRNAs, 4% Hispanic CRNAs, 3% Asian CRNAs & 0.7% Indigenous CRNAs In 2024, we have 5 Diversity CRNA Information Sessions & Airway Simulation Lab Workshop events with early professional socialization to increase representation. This fun fact moves us to do so. www.DiversityCRNA.org #diversitycrna #immersionmodel #evidencebased

🇫🇮🚑 Senior Lecturer @ArcadaUAS. PhD Researcher @HelsinkiUniMed | Emergency Care; Teams and Systems; Simulation. #EuSim #SESAM #FinnEMAkatemia #KidsSaveLives
As the only UAS in Finland offering a bachelor-degree in Emergency Care in Swedish language, Arcada University of Applied Sciences has a strong reputation not only inside, but also outside, our geographical borders. Our 🚑 paramedic nurse students and alumni have a unique chance to not only get a high quality degree, but simultaneously develop competencies in both our domestic languages. This consequently allows them to rather easily also build a career internationally. The fantastic article below, from our major Swedish national newspaper Hufvudstadsbladet (text in Swedish, behind paywall), is centered around one of our alumni, who along with most of her class decided to "go west" to work in Stockholm. Student and alumni mobility is a norm for us, with approx. between 3-5 graduated paramedic nurses annually (on average; considerable variability between groups) moving to Sweden or other Nordic countries for work. I for one applaud them for that. Overall, the Emergency Care bachelor degree education in Finland is high quality and clearly sought after. We who educate and develop it can be proud and this kind of international demand does well to prove that. But it's also a double-edged sword, as we might stand to lose many of them to the markets abroad, with potentially higher salaries, better working conditions and more career options. So, let's keep working on making our Finnish EMS systems, work and career opportunities here at home more manageable and attractive for our future professionals, and for our entire profession. So that they don't *all* go west. We have "sun in wintertime" here also. #paramedicine #mobility

The decrease in experienced leprosy specialists is becoming a prominent issue. For more than two decades, there has been a drop in specialised expertise. However, there is optimism as collaborative efforts by organisations like TLM, ILEP, WHO, and GPZL are joining forces to uphold essential skills and cultivate a fresh cohort of leprosy professionals. Explore more about this initiative in our recent Leprosy News magazine at https://bit.ly/LRITLM
