Today marks the anniversary of the National Apology to the Stolen Generations. The Apology illustrates the importance of truth-telling to support the healing of First Peoples and communities affected by wrongdoings of the past and present. We recognise and honour the culture and history of First Peoples and support First Peoples staff and communities to heal from the hurt, pain, and trauma from past wrongdoings. DEECA is committed to Victoria's truth-telling and treaty process as an important factor of promoting and embedding the principles of Aboriginal self-determination. United we stand, divided we fall. Every time we think Blue States versus Red States, the terrorists who did this win. They tried to kill all of us. To make us afraid. We have nothing to fear but fear itself, is as true today as it was in WWII. No one can beat us but ourselves. Honor the memories of the fallen by becoming an informed citizen. Watch and listen to all sides. Think critically for yourself and decide based on what you determine to be true. You have to work at it. Freedom is not free. One hint, follow the money to figure out the real motivations. You might be surprised what you figure out. Being a good citizen takes more than one day a year. #democracymatters
On this day, we remember those we lost. May we keep their memories alive and stand united in our commitment to peace. 🕊

Is it enough to say sorry? How much more are there to apologise for? An #apology is merly the first small step in the right direction. We should continue to move forward by #acknowledging but also with #action. What are the things we should be doing this #nationalsorryday to #reconcile and #heal from the past? I’d love to hear your thoughts! #nationalsorryday #stolengeneration #humanrights #reconciliation #healingtogether
The 13th of February marks the date the official apology was made for past government policies that resulted in the forced removal of Indigenous children from their families. These children are known as the Stolen Generations. National Sorry Day acknowledges the strength of the survivors and offers a time for reflection, on how we can all play a role in the healing process for Aboriginal people and our Nation. You can play a part in the healing journey by joining us in remembering and acknowledging the strength of the Stolen Generations.

"In our pursuit to fulfill the Great Commission, our eyes should remain fixed on the joyful day that awaits us. We will face many trials between this day and that, as Jude’s readers did, but we can be sure that nothing can shake our faith, which is held by our Lord, and nothing can prevent him from carrying our faith to completion."
