We're always listening & learning from our people at Primark around how we can build a culture that fuels performance.
This year, we made an overdue (!) change to our holiday observances in the United States, based on feedback from our colleagues & candidates, including through our Your Voice #colleagueengagement survey -- adding two additional days off for our full-time colleagues in the US. This change means that for the first time we will officially observe #Juneteenth this week, following from our addition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day in January.
Our holiday observances are one way that we're Investing in an Inclusive Experience -- from recognizing moments that matter to supporting work-life balance -- it's about how we bring Our Value of #Caring and Our Behavior of #Inclusion to life.
In addition to time off, we also bring this recognition into our business, with each store creating their own engagement activities -- and I can't wait to see what the stores have planned for this week! Some snaps from past events are below.

What do you want to be famous for?
Todays little message of hope and light is about why it’s important to be famous for something as a #recruiter and/or as an #employer
Here’s why…
When I worked for the magical people of TJX Europe we had a very easy sell on our hands… the culture was epic… flexibility and hybrid working was all in place… etc… but what I actually sold (and we were famous for at the time) was how many promotions we made!
It was the best USP you could have… we were effectively selling a company that truly invested in people… and who wouldn’t want that?! (The business was also very successful and that didn’t really hurt either)
But It’s often the #usp of a company in a #recruiting sense that seals the deal (Or so every boss I had in the agency days ever told me)
So what’s your personal USP?
I’ve asked myself a bunch of times what I would like to be known for as a professional, or as an individual… the truth is, that changes constantly, but I think I’d like to be famous for being kind and authentic. That authenticity might not make me popular with everyone, but I’m ok with that…
In the #talentacquisition community, we all sell the dream of a company or a role… at least occasionally… So my question to you is, What do you want to be famous for?
Have a great day!

Robert’s Insight: It does not matter who you are... where you are from... as long as you have genius ability, you will be able to be promoted to the highest position you need.
This video shows us that we should not judge people or an animal(s) based on their race, color, religion, gender, nationality, age, etc. But we must consider their ability, skill, knowledge, and so on.
To build a good team culture, it requires us to encourage diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Diversity means having a team that reflects different backgrounds, perspectives, knowledge, and skills.
Inclusion means creating a team that respects, values and supports team members' individuality and uniqueness.
Promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in corporations/companies, requires a hiring manager to recruit and retain a talented employee by promoting equity, creating a culture of openness, and treating employees based on the principle of care.

In my previous roles, I've had the privilege of bridging the gap between sales and creative teams. I've learned that the phrase 'Can you just pretty this up?' can be quite disheartening for creatives.
Their impact goes beyond surface beauty, as they drive engagement, forge connections, and inspire innovation. Just as we wouldn't undermine a salesperson's strategic prowess by suggesting they're merely out for coffee all day.
A workplace culture that values and celebrates every role paves the way for elevated performance and unified success.
At RL Hudson, we believe that recognizing the hard work and achievements of our team is essential for building a positive, engaged, and productive work environment. That's why we make it a priority to celebrate employee milestones and victories, big and small.

From hosting company-wide events to sending personalized thank-you notes, we strive to tailor our recognition efforts to the individual's preferences and the company's culture.
