Pausing to slow down, appreciate, and remember Larry Lucchino. Yes, he was an accomplished baseball executive who built Camden Yards, made my San Diego Padres relevant for a short time, and broke the Red Sox curse... This picture below speaks to him as a person and leader. 10 years ago, after opening day and receiving last year's world series ring, Larry is walking out of Fenway and a young boy asks him if he can try on the ring. Without pause, Larry takes it off his finger and gives it to the boy and poses with him. Another less known fact is that the Red Sox Foundation is the largest team charity in American sports, having donated >$100M to charitable causes. Sophie Hirst thank you for the invite and special memory.

JGnil had a big week, but it was Nevada Wolfpack BIG MAN @JazzGardner who made the biggest impression making the committment to give back by hosting 20 children from The Boys & Girls Club as we implemented his charitable vision through "The Jazz Section" giving less fortunate children a chance to see games, meet players and have an experience otherwise not likley (and get to eat the BEST pizza Grimaldi's Pizzeria!). Many "industry" people rightfully think having a foundation or charity too early in their playing career can be a distraction and lead to mismanagement of funds and likely a failed effort. Look at all of the examples- they are RIGHT!!! They do not have quality people like Norman Wedderburn running their foundations! The mistakes can range from involving family members without experience making poor judgement or even worse, a "friend of the family" who ends up being a crook and stealing when they have been called "Uncle" or "Coach" for years. Sad stuff. Fortunately, one of JGnil's advisors is Evan M. Pearson. Evan's resume' is literally philanthropic/charitable organizational structure and campaign funding for over 25 years. Evan subsequently introduced JGnil to PLAYERS PHILANTHROPY FUND, which is a platform that takes the variables I mentioned before OUT! They focus on streamlining the process, costs and risks (legal, taxes, EIN bank account SOP) while providing their clients with a way to have their own cause, own charity and not carry the burden mentally of wondering if things are getting done along the way to building their legacy OFF the court. Another focus of the JGnil mentality: It isn't impressing people that matters. It is the impression you leave that does. #givingback #charity #tithing #GIVINGISWINNING.#jgnil #JGnilmanagement Evan M. A little 'inside baseball' for how a Rally North America event works. 80+ cars line up in a smallish town (think Erie, PA or Knoxville, TN) on a sunny weekday morning - come to think of it, I've never been on a starting grid where it was raining - listen to a rallying introduction from our organizers and that town's leadership, and then get in our cars, waiting for the coveted Clue Card for the day and the green flag. Local news crews recording as we take off, one by one. Pictured is one of those Clue Cards - this from our 2016 Big Sky Rally which ran from Billings, MT to Portland, OR. As you can see, each checkpoint is described with just a clue and an image. We have to figure out what it is, where it is, and how to get there more quickly than the other 79 cars' occupants. While respecting traffic laws, mind you; a ticket is an instant DQ. Our place in the starting grid is dictated by how much money we raise for the charity that year. In 2012, I secured pole position with approximately $3500 raised. By now, pole position requires more than $20,000 in donations. We are that serious about the cause. I'm usually good now for about $8,000 - though I'm behind in my efforts so far this year. Please help me out by hitting Like and, if you think the cause worthy, repost to your networks. All donations, large or small, are hugely appreciated and roundly celebrated. My goal for this week is to raise $250 through our donation page, which is linked below. All proceeds go directly to Camp Sunshine and you will receive a receipt for tax purposes. 🏕 ☀ This post is related to Rally North America's 2024 Sunshine Rally. As we do nearly every year, my wife and I are participating under the team name Slightly Lost. Our goal is to raise as much money for the chosen #charity as we possibly can; please help us make a difference for the kids at Camp Sunshine by contributing at our Team Page. Link in the Comments. For more information, or if you represent a business that would like to get exposure during the event, DM me. #fundraising #foragoodcause #rallynorthamerica #campsunshine #slightlylost661

TL;DR...Skip a latte and help this business help this kid. At a minimum of you can't spare a buck, repost this to your network. (https://lnkd.in/eCAnfM5S) Put BRANDON in the comments section on the donation page. I am one of the believers that LinkedIn is for business. That doesn't mean we don't get the opportunity to intersect personal with professional. This is one of those instances. I've known Daniel Stein for more than 10 years. In that time I've gone from being a mentor to a close personal friend as well. I remember sitting outside Starbucks with him while he cast his vision for what "could" be. Over that decade, he built out an amazing business that CHANGES LIVES daily. Here's the thing...It can't always be free. I know Daniel gives away way more than he ever gets in. It's his heart. His passion is to take those with special needs, treat them like the MOST special people in the universe, and facilitate healing through fitness. He builds them up; mind, body, and soul. His record speaks for itself. He has garnered media attention all over the country and is expanding all over the place as word gets out about what his company does for humanity. These aren't your average health club personal trainers. They require HIGHLY specialized credentials and aren't cheap. He only brings in the best and that requires investment. So what Ray? As I started off with...Skip the latte today and send this kid your $5 instead. Invest in a #BUSINESS that pays you back in untold eternal dividends. Heck, skip a week of lattes, have a cup of drip coffee, and change this kid's life. (I'm drinking my instant Cafe Bustelo this week and sending Brandon some love and financial investment.) The universe will not let your investment go unrewarded. (https://lnkd.in/eCAnfM5S) #business, #Sales, #Investment, #Coffee #Success #Training #Fitness #Love

Brandon still needs your help! Through our 501(c)(3) Special Strong Champions Foundation, we have raised over $2,000. Most of that has come from people on LinkedIn. THANK YOU! Our goal is to raise $10,000 for Brandon to allow him to train at Special Strong twice a week for several more years. We discount our standard prices, which allows the donor money to go much further. I will be one of the adaptive trainers who is personally training Brandon and will be sharing his journey as he returns to Special Strong. If it's in your heart to help Brandon, message me or follow the link at the end of the video. God bless you! #specialneeds #donate #autism #philanthropy

Corporate organizations are in a position to dynamically impact their communities. Huge thank you to Lancaster County Motors, Inc. for their incredible support of Meals on Wheels of Lancaster and our community as a whole! While you might think that donating funds is the most important part of that impact, there are actually multiple ways corporate organizations truly transform the communities they are in. Here are a few examples: 1. Allow employees to volunteer. Some organizations actually pay employees to volunteer at least 8 hours a year. Others let employees take time off to support volunteering efforts. Some go so far as to coordinate the event and encourage all employees to participate. Find a way that works best for your organization. 2. Bring exposure to community partners. Social media posts and other marketing efforts harness your brand to support community impact. 3. Host community partners at your facility. If you have space, non-profits are often needing locations to host fundraising events and hold meetings. Your space can do good too! What ways are you using to impact your community? #corporateresponsibility #volunteering
Lancaster County Motors Subaru is proud to announce that during the 2023 Subaru Share the Love® Event in November and December 2023, Lancaster County Motors Subaru and our Clients donated $56,000 to two local charities! Our 2023 partners were Meals on Wheels of Lancaster and A WEEK AWAY FOUNDATION. Yesterday, LCM Subaru General Manager Jonathan F. presented each charity with a check for $28,000. Thank you to both charities for all that you do for the community!
