Client Services at Thoughtworks | CTOs and other business leaders work with us to improve operational efficiency and build new revenue streams.
This is a must read! My colleague and Thoughtworks' CTO Rachel Laycock shares insights into the good, the bad and the ugly side of #TechDebt. This is a topic that I often see being discussed in a siloed way only within technology and engineering teams. Either the product organization doesn't join the conversation to understand the impacts on the product roadmap, missing a great opportunity to improve the product strategy, or tech doesn't bring the product and business teams to discuss how that can be addressed together, further alienating the product organization. Tech Debt is everyone's responsibility. Read this article to find out how to spot technical debt in your business and alternative approaches to building resilient software that delivers better ROI. https://bit.ly/3IyC9mZ

Enjoyed attending this insightful presentation yesterday! Some actionable tips to reimagine your product roadmap to deliver a more compelling message to your stakeholders. Great to meet in person Phil Hornby - I think my question about capturing the accompany strategic commentary was one of the HARD ones, appreciate your considered response 🙇🏻 Pierre Christoph 🚀 Poyault shared some concise takeaways from the event in the comments to the original post 👇 Full recording of the event in the comments to Phil's post as well. My other takeaways: - Aside from communication and alignment, roadmaps are also a tool for influencing and persuasion. - Be pragmatic about the content of your roadmap, and tailor to the needs and maturity of your audience. For example, it's completely acceptable to put features on your near-term roadmap if you have (near) certainty they will be delivered based on your discovery. - Consider adopting a phase-based roadmap (Deliver/Discover/Explore) that better conveys varying levels of confidence and certainty. - Explore ways to capture the thought process, key messages and updates as a supplement to the roadmap, and scale this out as needed. This allows the roadmap to be used as a sales enablement tool for your commercial / customer-facing team.
Passionate product leadership coach. Helping product leaders to think clearly, make strong decisions, and take powerful action that drives high-impact outcomes. Be your best!
Yesterday I was in Berlin to speak at ProductTank Berlin. We talked about "Going beyond the now-next-later roadmap". Great crowd, but they asked some HARD questions! I was tired by the end. If I didn't get to answering your questions just get in touch! A room full of passionate #productpeople. Thanks to Dimitri P. for inviting me and to Anuka Pokharel (she/her) for hosting. It was great to be at Thoughtworks. Great space and I enjoyed the Brezels! Sabrina Mach I am told you are supposed to be posting something on LinkedIn about the event so here is something to remind you 😜 #productmanagement #productmgmt #productevents

🚀 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗗𝗲𝘃 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯 𝗶𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿 - 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴? It's one of my favorite conferences and communities. Last year, I was on stage talking about how you can make decisions in black-box scenarios as a CTO. 👨🚀 It is always fascinating to go out of my data bubble and connect to engineering leaders from different backgrounds. If you are in Berlin on Dec 4th and 5th and want to talk about software leadership, data, and, of course, AI, ping me - I'll be there! LeadDev #engineeringmanagement #cto #datastrategy

🎉 It’s time to feature our MVP of the month of October! This month we celebrate Ekjot Singh our Senior Developer and Dr Leeya Hendricks our CMO. Ekjot is known as a conscientious and talented hard worker, dedicated to what he does, and Dr Leeya Hendricks is known for her exceptional leadership, her positive outlook and for always motivating the team - let us get to know them a little better. Here are the questions we asked! 👇 🌱 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐕𝐏 𝐚𝐭 𝐑𝐢𝐦𝐦 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮? Ekjot: Being named MVP at Rimm is both motivating and a great responsibility. It motivates me to continue performing at my best and as a team, we've been able to achieve great things together. Leeya: I am humbled to receive the kind words from the team in recognizing my leadership qualities and as MVP - as a leader, it's my job and part of my role to drive collective effort and represent the collaborative spirit. Being an effective leader is inseparable from being an attentive listener. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all. 🌱 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐚 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲? Ekjot: I work in sustainability tech, where my primary focus is on leveraging technology to address sustainability challenges. This includes using data analytics, smart infrastructure, and cutting-edge innovations to develop practical solutions. My goal is to harness technology's power to create meaningful and sustainable advancements in our world. Leeya: I am passionate about all areas of ESG, but particularly S, as I see inclusion as an integral part of social progression and driving growth. We need cognitive diversity as well as representative diversity at the highest levels to drive a positive impact on decision-making, profitability, and innovation. Lack of diversity hinders performance and inequality. 🌱 𝐀 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐑𝐢𝐦𝐦? Ekjot: As a tech guy at Rimm, my secret talent is my skill in finding smart and effective solutions for tricky coding issues. I'm good at making complex technical problems easier to handle, which not only saves time but also makes our software better. I really enjoy helping our team and making a positive impact in my role. Leeya: Co-creation and silo-busting. I am always trying to find ways to collaborate and co-create value which also holds true to our AI-tech customer value propositions where I am able to apply my expertise from my PhD thesis on platform ecosystem development and value co-creation in my role as CMO and in our product offerings. 🌟 Congratulations once again to our two MVPs from last month! #sustainabilityforall #team #MVP
