YCombinator's mantra is “Build something people want.” It is not “Build something people need.” There is a subtle, but very important distinction between the two. People will always buy what they want. They only sometimes buy what they need.

There's really only two forces at work here: There's your self-expression, and there are things that inhibit self-expression. You could generally call the things that inhibit it culture. Culture is defined by unconsciousness — unconscious expectation and acceptance of how things are or are supposed to be, including you, which is part of the reason we get shallow repetitive answers to questions like: Who are you? Tell me about yourself. “Well, here's where I'm from.” We have these pre-established ways we're supposed to think about things, and we depend on those largely to define who we are, which stops us from discovering and expressing who we actually are. #BusinessIdentity #BuildingSuccess #KnowYourself #EntrepreneurialJourney #BusinessGrowth #ExpressYourValues #PersonalDevelopment #BusinessStrategy #IdentityMatters #BusinessSuccess

What we believe: PART TWO Ideas come from E.V.E.R.Y.W.H.E.R.E! Ideas. Those fragile little b*****ds. You glimpse them through the fog of the creative brain. Then they evaporate. They’re the most precious things, ideas. At Tilt we recognise and encourage the fact that: 💡 An idea can come from anywhere ✔️ 💡 An idea can (and should) be challenged by anybody ✔️ Browse our brains: https://lnkd.in/eA-CkEci
