Yesterday, we went to the museum. Yesterday, we went to the zoo. Yesterday, we… No, we don’t have the busiest days in the world. To our children, “yesterday” means anything that happened before today. Whatever they are referencing could have happened months prior, as was the case this past week when they talked about something their aunt’s pet did in June. Sometimes we’re left scratching our heads trying to think of what happened “yesterday”. With emails at least you can go back and read for context, but I am shocked the number of times someone replies to an email chain after months and expects us to just run with it like it happened yesterday. It’s especially fun when that request is suddenly a rush. I once received a request to repeat a custom process from 11 months prior. So what’s my advice? 1) document anything non-standard as you never know when you’ll be asked to do it again; 2) recognize the amount of time that has passed whether sending or receiving the request; 3) realize some rushes are avoidable.

A post to share.
Today would have been Molly Holzschlag’s 61st birthday. I want to take a moment to remember her by sharing a bit from a post she made way back in 2012.

Thanksgiving is here and Christmas is only 31 days far. The race for the best Christmas ad started already, but, we decided to move a bit out of the conventional, because..., well, you know our beliefs about people and the planet. So here is our best shot! Sit, grab a cup of tea, coffee and relax, or think. 🎬Opening Scene Description: The commercial opens with a woman seated in a natural wood chair, centered in a minimally decorated room. The only adornments are long, white linens that sway gently in the breeze. 🎥Camera Movement and Scene Development: The camera then pans to reveal a queue of happy and impatient people, each holding beautifully wrapped gifts of various sizes. As the camera zooms out, the line of people extends beyond the city limits, emphasizing its extraordinary length. ☘️Woman's Reaction: The woman, while smiling and receiving these gifts, subtly exhibits signs of discomfort, as if overwhelmed by the sheer volume of items. 🧐Closing Message: The scene fades to black, followed by a poignant message: 'Nature cannot accumulate more possessions, but needs more consciousness and love.’ If you’d spend enough time with your loved ones, maybe you’d know exactly what they need. #Ad #ChistmasAds
