Understanding Quality Assurance (QA) vs Quality Control (QC) I've noticed that even experienced SQA Engineers sometimes get confused about the differences between Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC). It's one of the most frequently asked questions during interviews, so here's a quick and easy breakdown: 🔍 Quality Assurance (QA): Proactive Process: Focuses on preventing defects by improving the development process. Process-Oriented: Involves planning, documentation, and systematic activities. Continuous Improvement: Emphasizes enhancing processes to meet quality standards. Whole Team Involvement: Everyone is responsible for quality. 🔧 Quality Control (QC): Reactive Process: Detects defects in the final product. Product-Oriented: Involves actual testing and inspection of the product. Verification & Validation: Ensures the product meets specified requirements. Specific Team Responsibility: Typically handled by a dedicated testing team. Grasping these differences helps us deliver top-notch products every time. #SQA #QualityAssurance #QualityControl

POSITION TITLE: SUPERVISORY QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST PP-SERS-GRADE: GS-1910-12 LOCATION: NORFOLK, VA (NSTF YORKTOWN) ANNOUNCEMENT NUMBER: ST-12346153-24-JLB OPEN DATE: WEDNESDAY, MARCH 13, 2024 CLOSE DATE: MONDAY, MARCH 18, 2024 (CLOSES AT MIDNIGHT) TO VIEW THE FULL JOB OPPORTUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT, PLEASE GO TO: https://lnkd.in/g-B_tH_H SPECIAL ATTENTION: Please review attached and below that has information on documentation requirements. (If you do not submit ALL required documents, you will not meet the “Area of Consideration” requirements and will be considered ineligible): Are you applying for a promotion? If you are a current GS employee applying for a higher grade than the grade that you currently hold you must provide an SF-50 that shows that you have held the next lower grade of GS-11 for at least one year. SF-50s effective within the last 52 weeks will not always demonstrate you have held the next lower grade for at least one year (e.g. General Adjustment SF-50 from this year). In many cases, we need to see two (2) SF-50s to determine time-in-grade and eligibility for promotion. If you are a DoD employee, you can obtain a copy of your SF- 50(s) from MyBiz (https://lnkd.in/dJviYJmd) This means you will need to submit your most current SF50 AND the SF50 when you became a GS-11. Are you applying for a transfer/reassignment? If you are a current GS employee applying for a transfer/reassignment (you are currently a GS-12), you must provide an SF-50 when you became a GS-12 and your most current SF-50. Are you applying as a VEOA? You must submit a copy of your latest DD-214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (any copy that shows all dates of service, as well as character of service [Honorable, General, etc.] is acceptable) OR a VA letter that shows dates of service or service connected disability AND character of service. If you have more than one DD-214 for multiple periods of active duty service, you should submit a copy for each period of service. If you were issued a DD-215 to amend aforementioned information on the DD-214 you must submit that too. DD-214 Member COPY 4 and a current Civil Service Preference Letter from https://www.va.gov/
