This message is important for all to hear. Investing in your people should always come first. Whether you're in an up-market, or a down-market, your teammates are the ones who will support you and your clients, so make time for the things that matter: your team.
A little Public Service Announcement. Always make the time and spend the money to get the team together! Our team just finished our yearly DML Fest. Three days of learning, collaborating and giving back to each other and the community! In these times of industry chaos, it was NEEDED by all. Matt W.. Michael Naylor. Ashley Mills. In the excitement of this season of change, growth, and development, I (Rei) have been accepted into the Cohort for Reclaiming Our Own Transcendence (ROOT) 2024 Spring "Healing Cycles of Harm." In taking part of this journey it has been a goal to de-colonize my professional lens, and unlearn the anti-Black attitudes, practices, and behaviors that built the foundation of my Black excellence. When recognizing the impact of colonized and anti-Black practices that exist in every system founded on the privilege of Whiteness, the presence of self-shame, self-blame, and self-doubt have unquestionably been part of my journey into professional growth and development since Kindergarten and has impacted my ability to own and value my identity. In being rewarded with being part of this process, I am able to understand what practices are most meaningful for my growth outside of the lenses of colonization. I intend to reflect and share as I go. Rei https://lnkd.in/g2jm_YC
