📱 Last week, SCG was proud to invite Violet for a calling day. As part of this process, Violet visited our offices last week, so we could help them develop their pipeline and scale the curve. This is just one of the many ways in which we help our partners Be More, through the human element of support and experience. 📢 What Violet said: “The session we had with Rob was very productive. We initially worked through a few leads and managed to progress them to the next stage of the sales process with Rob’s help. After this we discussed different ways of introducing ourselves to new customers and what this process will look like moving forward. We also looked at different campaigns we can launch over the next couple of months to target specific industries and sectors to help grow our customer base. The biggest thing we learnt from the session was being more direct with prospects and using various touchpoints to create a sense of importance and urgency around the sale. Gerry Edtl #SalesTip 30: Celebrate Your Wins. I want to say something that might ruffle feathers. Your Wins in Sales are those things YOU CAN CONTROL. You cannot control how much money someone will reach in their pocket and give you. You can control YOUR ACTIVITY. So celebrate your efforts. Sales is hard work. If you wait to celebrate the end-revenue generation from your efforts, you're at risk of burnout. Celebrating daily wins can sustain and empower you to keep at it. For example, I cold call 10 people every work day. When I finish the tenth call, I celebrate by taking a stretch break and getting a hot cup of coffee. In a year I've talked to over 2,500 people! And because I made those calls, I was able to generate my highest revenue year to date, most of which came in the 4th quarter. Don't discount your daily consistent sales activity. Celebrate your efforts. The revenue will follow.

First week of December is our #QBR. I'm trying to set an appointment in San Antonio the week of December 11th to progress my #UpsideOpportunity. The prospect suggested getting together in the New Year. My mother is in Town the week of the 18th and I'm taking the week between Christmas and New Years off." #RVP, "... okay, ya well, I'm going to be hanging close to home if you need anything. My kid is coming home from college". #TacticalTIP Prospect, Prospect, Prospect Nov 20, 21, 22 and all the following week ( you are probably not too busy closing month end deals, don't waste too much time on the #QBR ( set appointments and ask to participate virtually in the QBR from the road ... a good manager will love it), set as many appointments as you can for week one and two in December ...... try to avoid "Let's get together in the New Year". You will get the appointment slots because the majority of your competitors will be doing the #HolidaySalesFail People will read this and say, that makes sense and not do it.

I committed the biggest sin in sales…I need a slap round the head. Perfection in sales is unachievable. I’m a veteran. And I can still screw up…and I teach the darn subject. Screwed up big time 2 weeks ago. Got the deal by pure luck, but made it much harder than I needed to. I committed a big sales ‘sin’ that frankly, someone with my experience shouldn’t be making any more. The sin? I didn’t slow down and ask what would happen if we didn’t fix this now…if we did nothing…what would the short term consequences be for the client. I found out later they were on the brink of going down. They won’t actually go down now…but they could have, if they didn’t do something about it immediately. I hate that my discovery missed that obvious question. I’m too old to make stupid mistakes like that…but I did. So take heart from my recent mistake. Make your life easy. Ask “What’s likely to happen short term…if we don’t fix this now?” If there are no big consequences of doing nothing…why are they even bothering to talk to you about fixing it? 🙄 #vpsales #salesmanager #CMO #CSO
