Kids home for the summer means an increase in #TV usage...but not for broadcast or cable this July per #Nielsen. In fact, #broadcast was down close to 7% while #streaming was up close to 6%. Video #gaming increased as well. If I'm a local #advertiser, I'm wondering if my budget allocation looks similar. At Brkthru, we're helping our clients navigate the digital marketing landscape daily with no minimum spend requirements. Just doing the right things for our clients instead of navigating through barriers. Message me to talk! #DigitalMarketing #AdvertisingAgencies #CTV #Programmatic https://lnkd.in/gZ6qszm8

“Free ad-supported #streamingTV, or #FAST – which offer a free, easy entry experience across a wide variety of curated programming – continue to gain popularity among consumers. Considering that smart TV menus often put FAST services at viewers’ fingertips the second they press the power button it’s no surprise that FAST viewing time has increased by 70% in Q2 2023 compared to Q2 2022.” Inscape said in its study. https://lnkd.in/g-VVdWsR #OTT #CTV #digitaladvertising

I subscribe to YouTube TV because it fits my lifestyle. What I like about it: ✅ Variety in programming ✅ Access to local channels ✅ Ability to customize the menu (prioritize frequently watched channels, etc.) ✅ Ability to stream to multiple devices (e.g., TV, phone, iPad, laptop, desktop) ✅ Save/add to my library feature (aka. DVR) What I don't like about it: ❗️Price continues rising (It was less than $50 when I first signed up and now, I believe I am paying around $80) ❗️Upselling (but I also don't find it to be too intrusive) With that said, YouTube TV is just *one* of my household's streaming services (we also have subscriptions to Netflix, Hulu, AppleTV, Prime Video, and Paramount+). What I find interesting is the rise of advertising on each of these services and how those ads are incorporated. Even more interesting will be how each streaming platform will balance regular programming with live sports as ESPN, Fox, and Warner Bros Discovery launch a joint sports streaming venture... Streaming TV continues to influence how we consume programs, what we [will] pay for TV/entertainment, and what content we can[not] access. I am looking forward to seeing how this all shakes out! #youtube #CTV #streaming #adtech

I help advertising buyers feel confident with their streaming TV advertising strategy by delivering brand safe impressions, attribution reporting, and proprietary first-party data. I know TV 📺
SVOD, AVOD, MVPD, vMVPD: do you need to know what these terms mean when it comes to your streaming TV ad campaign? Yes and no. Let me explain….. These acronyms are all terms related to different models of delivering video content. SVOD (subscription video on demand) – video streaming on subscription services with some fee involved, whether ads are present or not (Netflix, Disney+, Max, etc.) AVOD (ad-supported video on demand) - video streaming on free to watch, no subscription/login required services (Pluto TV, Tubi, etc.) MVPD (multichannel video programming distributor) – video streaming through your cable or satellite TV provider which gives you access to multiple TV channels through a single subscription offering a lot of content in one package. (Spectrum TV App, Xfinity) vMVPD: (virtual multichannel video programming distributor) – platforms like YouTube TV, Sling TV, and Hulu Live. Your customer is probably tapping into each one of the delivery methods I mentioned above. That is why when I’m working with my clients I don’t start the conversation by telling them that I can get their commercial on AVODs like Pluto TV. We talk first about the customer they want to reach. When working with your local ad rep, while you don’t need to get in the weeds with all the technology, you could ask them what best aligns with your target audience and how they’ve come to that conclusion. What type of first-party data have they utilized to determine where your commercial should air? #localmedia #localadvertising #ctv #iknowtv #localmarketing #adtech #mediabuying #ott #streamingtv

Antennas on the Rise as ATSC 3.0 Rolls Out—According to Parks Associates, 20% of US households currently use an antenna to receive television, and another 12% plan to buy one. This means that antenna-use could grow by more than 50% and reach as many as a third of US households, amid the rollout of a next-generation standard for broadcast TV. As consumers abandon cable for streaming, antennas are a powerful supplement to SVOD services which often lack any live or local programming. And as consumers seek value amid tightening economic conditions, the low-cost investment for free TV grows more appealing. https://lnkd.in/eevp-etz
