Reunification month gets lost in the other celebratory months because it’s viewed as the expectation. It’s not considered an act of “going above and beyond.” Reunification month is the most important month. Parents facing themselves, having uncomfortable conversations and experiences, accepting responsibility for their actions, and overcoming adversity. Their children working through circumstances outside of their control, building stronger bonds with their families to understand grace, love and compassion. This doesn’t get recognition because what’s the picture to be posted on social media? What do you say about these folks who did this work? Our system doesn’t recognize them as “heroes” because it’s what we are supposed to do. WV subsides adoptions from foster care a great deal. Minimum $700 per month until the child turns 18 plus a Medicaid card. When a child is reunified, they don’t get any support. The case is closed. They get Medicaid if the qualify for Medicaid. Milestones should be celebrated not shamed. I’m glad to see more recognition for reunification.
June is Reunification Month! We are grateful for all of the volunteers that help create positive connections that help children reunify with their families. We recognize that not all families are the same and we strive to help them grow together.

As we move into the month of November, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Native Services would like to recognize National Native American Heritage Month. This month honors and celebrates our diverse Native cultures and histories while providing us with the opportunity to further highlight the important role of Native Clubs in connecting youth to their heritage. This month, Native Clubs will continue to focus on ways to combat historical trauma, because it is imperative that as Indigenous people, we help our Native youth understand that our story has always been one of incredible strength. Native people have battled the odds to overcome centuries of oppression and find ways to thrive and prosper. As part of BGCA Native Services’ effort to make this time as meaningful as possible, our new “8 Ways to Celebrate Native American Heritage Month” article on BGCA.org (https://lnkd.in/ev7rqnji) provides ideas for how to celebrate this month and ensure it is significant for young people. This article includes recommendations on different children’s books about Native Americans, links to educational virtual field trip opportunities, as well as ideas for potential areas of focus including storytelling, honoring Elders and connecting with nature. Our efforts to gather knowledge and resources, for the benefit of Native Clubs as they commemorate this important month, would not be possible without your ongoing financial support to BGCA Native Services. To learn how you can assist in our efforts to support Native Clubs during National Native American Heritage Month, please visit: https://NAClubs.org. #NativeClubs #NAHM2023 #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth

It often happens that I get so caught up in my daily life (and head) but I am so thankful for having joined Latinos for Education as a 2024 Latino Board Fellow. Connecting with people who have a shared vision of Latino representation, education, and advancement is invigorating and powerful! - 40% of Fortune 1000 companies are inclusive of Latinos on their corporate boards, reflecting a 5 percentage point increase from 2022 – the second most notable increase since 2019. - With most of the progress occurring outside of the Fortune 100, minimal progress continues in the Fortune 100, shifting from 53% to 54% in Latino representation. - While slow, Latino board representation continues to rise. The numbers have increased to 5.4% of Fortune 500 seats held by a Latino and 4.9% among Fortune 1000, a 1% and .8% respectively, one of the most notable increases for both segments since 2020. Please take a look at Latinos for Education and their amazing programs that support communities across the United States
Introducing Ana María Gomez: a dedicated professional committed to fostering positive change within communities. As the VP, Community Development Officer at Rockland Trust, she collaborates with local organizations to empower individuals and create avenues for upward mobility by leveraging her regulatory experience. A pan African organization providing knowledge management and capacity building on children services
We have witnessed firsthand how we have brought hope to families and communities through their children, where previously there was none. At the African Institute for Children Studies organization, we firmly believe in the transformative power of education for the most vulnerable populations. Together, we can continue to provide solutions that uplift and empower. https://lnkd.in/dX8aSxbU

Elevating the ordinary into the extraordinary and embracing the power of consistency can certainly be the key. Small actions, when done repeatedly over time, can indeed make a huge difference. Like contributing to caring for an orphaned or abandoned child every month, which can transform a child's life. Being the catalyst for someone's success can be extraordinary. Give's mission "No Child Orphaned" is an effort to do just that. Click here and be a part of this movement->https://lnkd.in/dcr43rxr

Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Also recognized on September 30, Orange Shirt Day is an Indigenous-led grassroots commemorative day to raise awareness of the individual, family and community inter-generational impacts of residential schools. The evolution of Little League values: Character, Integrity, Manhood (🙄 ) > Character, Courage, Loyalty > Community, Fun, Inclusion, Integrity, Teamwork. So excited to bring the latest evolution of our Organizational Identity to the masses. In 2018, we set out to start refreshing and modernizing the Little League brand, so that we can resonate with the next generation of Little Leaguers and their support networks. Since then, we've revamped our logos, strengthened our mission, and now, we're excited to strengthen our purpose, vision, and core values. Institutions don't become institutions by staying stagnant. It's about mindful reimagination and reinvention. Staying true to yourself while staying true to your constituents. As we continue to connect with the next generation entering the parenting and volunteering space, we are looking forward to bringing this strengthened Organizational Identity to life!
We are renewing our commitment to the future generations of children, families, and communities with the strengthening of a clearly defined Organizational Identity. At the core of everything Little League does, this is who we are → https://lnkd.in/eg2Ei9jv
