An excuse to quote some Floyd while checking you're awake to how #generativeai has brought down the walls of how we manage and interact with knowledge in the workplace. Stay comfortably numb and you'll be stuck on the dark side of the moon. So, what fundamental change has Gen AI brought to knowledge management in the workplace? Let's begin by considering the status quo... Traditional knowledge-management systems support initiatives such as on-boarding, skills-profiling, upskilling, career-pathway planning, and recruitment; yet success is limited and the cost, significant. Broadly speaking, all solutions rely on workflows, decision-trees and an individual staring at lists of tasks, training modules, skills, reviews etc. The user has to engage with dry, structured information and be sufficiently aware and knowledgeable to self-assess or to know what they are looking for. Many of these systems are re-skinning their products with Generative AI, however the underlying hierarchical, structured data is sub-optimal and will remain so. There has to be a better way... AI tools are often discussed as a way to automate tedious tasks, and that may be true at a practical level, but the messaging around an AI initiative could be just as important as what the initiative is supposed to do in the first place. Positioning a brand often means understanding the context a set of words or phrases is likely to have with a select target group, but we often wonder why people may feel threatened by terms like "automation," as it's seen as a categorical good. This belief overlooks the sense of meaning people derive from using skills, and can create unnecessary resistance to change. According to this article, all you have to do is frame an automation initiative as a tool that can assist with a process rather than a replacement (i.e.: this will help analyze data vs. this will analyze data automatically) and people become more receptive. This will help employees see the practical benefits of #AI and understand its potential. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀-𝗢𝗻 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 Encourage employees to use AI-powered applications and devices in a controlled and supportive environment. This could be as simple as using an AI-powered customer service chatbot, or using a pdf analysis tool that uses AI to summarize the main ideas of a document. These hands-on experiences can help demystify #AI and show its practical benefits. 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗹𝘆 Whether it’s privacy issues, job displacement, or ethical considerations, concerns need to be addressed openly and honestly. The vision and positioning of the organization in terms of #AI must become a central part of the corporate strategy and a key element to deepen good Environmental, Social and Governance (#ESG) practices. By having these conversations, organizations can build trust in AI and ensure it’s used responsibly. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 AI is constantly evolving, and so should our understanding of it. Encourage employees to attend workshops, webinars, or online courses designed for a general audience. Stay informed about the latest developments in AI. The more we learn, the better prepared we’ll be for an AI-driven future. 𝗘𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 Finally, as a critical step, organizations need to ensure that AI tools are accessible to everyone, regardless of their technical background. This means designing/adopting AI tools that are user-friendly, with intuitive interfaces, clear instructions, and robust customer support. I believe preparing an organization for #AI is not about turning everyone into an AI expert. It’s about helping employees understand what #AI is, how it works, and how it can benefit them within the boundaries their organization has defined in its #ESG practices. In other words, it’s about making their daily life more “𝘈𝘐-𝘪𝘴𝘩”.

New research from Capgemini reveals marketing is embracing this tech in a big way.  Let us break it down: 🔹 62% of marketers say generative AI will enhance human creativity rather than replace it. They see it supercharging innovative thinking, not substituting the humans. 🔹 50% of companies already earmark budgets for generative AI marketing. Another 33% plan to in the next 6 months. Nearly half have set up dedicated teams too. 🔹 In the next 2-3 years, generative AI will touch everything from SEO to customer service to content creation. Boom times ahead! 🔹 67% believe it will build unique brand image and 65% say it improves customer and market analysis. Hey big cost savings too - 66% agree there. But it is not all rainbows and butterflies:   🔅 Only 30% have clear guidelines for ethical AI use.
